It seemed like a lot of hype for what in all reality was yet another smartphone for more money with added tricks and sparkle. The author of Meet the new iPhone. Companies developed machines that could replace the need for paid employees and could eliminate error; this is especially true in the car manufacturing industry. Although, the new technologies caused many job loses, in fact, it did create numerous jobs, and some reports say 24 million.
During this time period, one of the changes that lead to this economic growth was the migration of the American population from small rural farming communities to the urban industrial cities. This migration of the American population created the needed workforce for the growing number of factories in the industrial cities. These cities and industries include, New York City, the Great Lakes area production of iron, steel, machinery, chemicals and packaged goods, Pittsburgh iron and steel manufacturing, and Chicago production of steel, farm machinery and processed meat in their giant stockyards. Many other industrial cities existed during this time, but these mentioned were the largest. Also an important part of the economic growth of the United States during this time period was the growth of the railroad.

Due to the high number of competitors as well as the different forms of delivery, such as instant online delivery and mail delivery, there is a high amount of substitute providers for this service. The bargaining power of the movie-rental industry against suppliers is increasing especially in recent years. The reason for the increased control is that DVD sales are declining on the average, meaning that the main form of delivery that consumers are taking advantage of is online-streaming.

During the tenure of former CEO Steve jobs, Apple had extreme unprecedented success. Garnering an almost cult-like following with its innovations, Apple found itself in very unique position in that the products it manufactured were first to market, essentially creating a new market for competitors to challenge it in. While there where computers, phones and mp3 players from different companies none had the integration and usability across all it’s platforms like Apple did. This allowed it to sell one product to a consumer but guarantee this product would work with its other devices. Additional to this, it brought to market a phone that integrated various technologies.

Wal-Mart’s main defense is all the jobs it creates for American citizens. While Wal-Mart does create many jobs it destroys more than it creates. According to the book, How corporation’s hurt us all, By crushing local businesses, this giant eliminates three decent jobs for every two low-paid Wal-Mart jobs it creates (Dan Butts 167). So basically every time a Wal-Mart comes to a small town, a lot of the employees have to join the superstore and work for less or lose their job all together. Another reason people like to defend Wal-Mart is because they have better prices than most everyone else which is easier on peoples wallets.
Beyond doubt, the cell phone is one of the biggest inventions of all time. We all know what life before this little cute gadget was. I use my cell phone to make my life easier – it’s my alarm clock, my watch, and my music player. Unfortunately, nowadays with all these fancy characteristics the phone becomes an accessory more then a necessity. People forget why and where they are using their phone and very often make someone else’s life miserable.
