As the new district manager for Dunkin Donuts, it is necessary to create an effective plan to open five new locations successfully and maintain the company’s profitability. Job design is essential in defining the roles and responsibilities of each position. Operational design must be established. Recruiting and employee selection, training and performance appraisal all need to be outlined prior to opening in order for the new locations to open as planned and be prepared. Job Design The following will describe the various positions within the new district for Dunkin Donuts. Definitively defining each position is essential to the success of the new locations. Each position will have specific tasks assigned. Front Counter/Drive-thru attendant The front counter crew members will be responsible for all direct guest contact. Customer service is an essential skill that will be needed for interaction with the guests. This crew member will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the workstation and guest area. They may also be asked to train new team members. The right candidate must have excellent communication skills and basic math skills. The ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers is essential.
