The extent of gangs/drugs A proliferation in gangs will also mean a growth in drug and violence in our community’s and threatening society in general. There are more than 731,000 active gang members in the United States, most of which are active with drug distribution. Gangs will and have shown themselves notorious and without regard to society and family. Street gangs employ violence to control drug activities and even targeting local businesses with extortion. Violence ensures that members adhere to the gang’s code of conduct.
Coca Cola had been manufactured with cocaine until the discovery that cocaine was addictive. The war on drugs has cost the government and the public trillions of dollars and the war does not have a minimal impact on winning. More people are being arrested for drug-related charges against them. Drugs do not stop at the prison gates The drug scene rages in prison. Drugs are more profitable in prison than on the street.
The War on Drugs is causing more harm than good in our country. American citizens are putting their hard-earned tax money into this war every time they get a paycheck. We our supporting jails and prison, many, full of harmless drug addicts. We also spend tons on money on high tech machinery to find illegal drugs. We could actually save, and even make money if all drugs were legal.
Economic impact of the American War on Drugs The American War on Drugs has been called the most expensive, and least fruitful war in all of US history. This war doesn’t take place in some distant land, it takes place in our back yard. It surrounds us every day, it affects each one of us or someone we know. The war on drugs involves every one of us, the issue at the heart of the conflict is whether or not individuals should be free to possess and consume any substance/drug they wish. Our government expends an outrageous amount of effort, in terms of manpower and financial resources to ensure that no one in our society has access to any of these substances.

Illegal immigrants (mostly Mexicans) bring with them crime, drugs, and cost the American government billions of dollars yearly. This can greatly decrease the value of a country’s economy. Legal immigrants are a key step to help any nation’s economy thrive and grow (mostly the white ones), but illegal immigrants hinder and dismantle it (mostly the black, brown, and yellow ones). Most illegal immigrants that cross into the U.S. come from Mexico (shocker).

Apart from it being a prime destination for travelers, the United States has turned out to be the excellent platform for most of the criminal dealings.

War on Drugs in Guatemala Oriana Peñaranda Introduction to International Relations 1011 Dr. Charles MacDonald March 23, 2012 The Central American country of Guatemala has experienced the traumatic effects of drug trafficking for about 30 years now and is desperately trying to find solutions to resolve this problem. Drug cartels have taken over large swathes of Guatemala and other Central American countries, fueling some of the highest murder rates in the world. Drug trafficking is a major issue because it threatens the stability, prosperity and peace of the country. The issue of illegal drug trafficking and the violence that comes with it is nothing new to Guatemala. Why does Guatemala suffer from the immense amount of drug trafficking?
Drug trafficking, in years past, have been very present in countries like Cuba, where drug lords attempted to run the country. Through drug cartels, as mentioned earlier, groups of people try to sell these illegal drugs in attempt to gain money and power. However, these type of cartels are very dangerous as the affect the lives of individuals. More recently, Mexico has been heavily hit by the drug trafficking epidemic, and this has caused an ongoing war that seems almost impossible to end. Living the United States, one can easily forget how great a right it is to practice free speech.
