Drug Abuse in Society Sociology 3 May 2013 Every day in the world, all of society is affected in some sort of way. It could be in a positive way or possibly in a negative effect. It is uncertain what the world will bring next and it is the citizens’ jobs to overcome the struggles or feed on the success. However, society comes to find that there is more problems than they can count. There are many social problems in which humans face every second of their life. There are problems like poverty, health care, education, and so on. Another social problem that people may not think of is the world of drugs. Drug abuse has been a constants struggle and affects more than just the person who I abusing the drugs. It affects a whole nation. Drug abuse is something that needs to be dealt with and many factors come into play when discussing the overall effect of drugs. Due to this, the war on drugs has been a major problem that seems not to be resolved. The crime is increasing due to the war on drugs. It is a battle between dealers and the law enforcement. Many lives are lost and it seems to be a continuous struggle to fight the war on drugs. Drug abuse affects society in every other way possible. Not only is the family affected, but the whole nation as well. Also, the way the media portrays drugs can miss leading. The media makes out to say that every person needs some sort of drug for every little thing. This can cause serious effects, but people do not realize it. Drug abuse is an extremely hot topic that needs to be talked about. Something needs to be changed and a goal needs to be reached. Overall, drugs have led to many negative things. One that sticks out is the abuse of drugs. This abuse of drugs follows into the war on drugs. This is simply a United States operation to prohibit the distribution of illegal drugs through foreign trade or even trade in our homeland.
