He did not have any outer clothing and was shoeless. Before the defendants left, they put Stafford’s shoes and jacket on the shoulder of the highway. Stafford wore glasses, which was in the car, but when the defendants left, they either inadvertently or purposely did not give them to Stafford. Michael W. Blake, a college student, was driving on the same highway at a reasonable speed and saw Stafford in the middle of the road with his hands in the air. Blake could not stop in time or avoid hitting him, therefore, Stafford was hit by Blake’s car and died.
Consequently, George got a lot of speeding tickets and had a boat load of money to pay off. In fact, he failed his first driver’s test for driving too fast. George never really cared about rules; he just loved the freedom of having a car (Newsmakers par. 9; Woog 20-21). He once recalled, “I had my own life once I had a car.
I would have it set up so that after every ticket you get from the robot buggy picker upper you would get points and after ten points you would not be aloud to take a buggy from the store. Im not sure shy stores allow you to take the buggies out of the store now because after so much time they run out in the store so then someone has to quit what they are doing and pick up ever buggy in the parking lot and half the time they don't even get the buggies running stray they stay right where they are at so it still makes me mad. If you ever try to talk to someone and tell them that they buggies are going all over the place they just look at you like your crazy and wonder why you took the time out of there day and come to them with this problem. Sometimes i wonder if the stores do it just to see what people will do. I have seen some people run the carts over because they didn't want to move it.
In 2007, I was a passenger in a vehicle that was initially pulled over for speeding. After the officer, noticed an open container (broken seal) of alcohol. Immediately the officer wrote two tickets, one for the driver and one for the passenger, even though the privately owned vehicle didn’t belong to me. I didn’t argue with the officer due to lack of knowledge with that particular law and didn’t want any extra trouble. The officer neglected to write an additional ticket to the driver for speeding.
“WHY BANNING THE USE OF CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING SHOULD BE MANDATORY NATIONWIDE” KIM L BETTS ASHWORTH COLLEGE STUDENT # AC 1210637 PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC SPEAKING SP 180 ASSIGNMENT 7_14 It was around 9 p.m. when Justin picked up the phone call from a friend. He quickly became distracted by the conversation and failed to see the vehicle in front of him slow to make a right turn. He swerved into oncoming traffic as he overcorrected. Seconds after he successfully avoided crashing, a white Mitsubishi in the opposite lane could not avoid colliding with Justin’s vehicle. “We must go on knowing a remarkable and promising young man is gone – all because of a 29 second phone call that could have waited”.
Mr. Younger had many pleasant and joyful moments stolen from him in this novel due to his irresponsible actions. For example, one evening Ruth had received a phone call. The caller was the wife of the man that Walter drives for, Saying walter had been a no-show to work for the past three days. “Mama: What you been doing for these three days, son?” (105) Walter replied by telling her he spent his work time just driving, roaming the streets of their small are, and drinking at the Green Hat.
The way the car is smashed to together just shows how hard the two cars collided together. Not only that but looking at the arm on the floor makes you imagine what happened to that person. The intended audience that this picture aims for are anyone who drives but mostly teenagers. The mindset of a teenager they think they have the ability to text and drive. They think just because they are being “smart” about texting and driving that it’s ok to do it.
Texting and Driving Driving is a difficult activity. When someone drives they are supposed to pay attention to all their surroundings. Everyday I drive I try to be as safe as possible and not get distracted. About 5 months ago I didn’t care about safety and looked at my phone all the time. Little did I know I would pay for that terrible decision.
Tom has always sped through red lights because the cops were never there to catch him or nothing bad has ever happened so why should he stop now? His luck came to a screeching stop one day when as the light turned red Tom ran the red light again like it was no big deal, but this time a little girl was crossing the street after seeing the motion light signaled her across. Since Tom thought that he was above the law and he will now appear in court not for a speeding ticket but for murder. If there was red light traffic cameras at all major intersections then Tom would have slowed down at the fear of getting a ticket. Traffic light cameras should be used at all major intersections to prevent common traffic violations.
General Purpose To convince my audience that cell phone usage while driving should be banned nationwide. B. Specific Purpose To inform the audience of the significant danger of using a cell phone while driving, and convey the importance of getting the word out to enact both individual and societal change, nationwide. C. Central idea The use of a cell phone or other mobile device while operating an automobile always results in a distracted driver, which in turn has been seen to cause serious accidents, including many fatalities. These tragedies are entirely preventable, as virtually no phone call or text is so urgent that the driver doesnt have time to pull over or have another passenger operate the mobile device.
