Celia Cruz was born on October 21, 1924, in the Santo Suarez neighborhood of Havana. Her singing talent was obvious even when she was young, but instead of pursuing a career in singing, she studied to be a teacher. This was because her father told her that he did not believe that singing was a worthwhile profession for a woman. She still went after a career in singing, after encouragement from her mother, teacher and aunt. Cruz first began singing in talent shows and doing recordings for radio stations, but neither were sold for money.

She grew up in the countryside and was taught by her father how to sing and love music. Unfortunately, while she was still young, her father passed away and she lost her passion for music all together. Instead of shining as brightly as she could, she was just a dim glow compared to those around her. In her childhood, she was close friends with Raoul DeChagny, who also plays an enormous part in the book. This man happened to see her singing one night at the opera and remembered their childhood together.
After the birth of her fifth child and the death of her father, she went into a severe depression and was forcefully admitted to Devereux-Texas Treatment Network. There, Dr. Mohammed Saeed prescribed a series of psychotropic drug treatments. He also abruptly tapered off the antipsychotic Haldol, a medication that helped Andrea recover in 1999. On June 20, 2001, during the hour between her husband leaving for work and her mother-in-law arriving, Andrea Yates drowned all five of her children in the bathtub. Debra M. Osterman, a psychiatrist with the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County, Tex., said

The Third Life of Grange Copeland (1970) Write a brief a biographical sketch of your author: ( at least 250-500 words in paragraph format) ( do not cut and paste from a source... this should be in your own words) Alice Walker was born in rural Georgia in 1944 and was the youngest of eight children. I chose to write about Alice Walker because she is such an inspiration and her writings catch my eye. At the very young age of eight, she lost her right eye due to an accidental shooting by her brother. She became blind in this eye and immediately felt like an outcast. She was stared at and taunted because of her eye and because of that she started writing.
His father called Andrew Armstrong worked as a jazz musician, and his mother called Olie Jackson worked at Rod`s Hickory Pit. His father died of cancer on September 10,1982, when Billie was about 10 years old. About 22 years later Green Day recorded one of their albums called American Idiot. This album considers social problems. It can be seen as anti-war allegory against the policy of George Bush and the USA invasion to Iraq.
Lavigne has an older brother, Matthew, and a younger sister, Michelle, both of whom teased her when she sang. “My brother used to knock on the wall because I used to sing myself to sleep and he thought it was really annoying.” When Lavigne was five years old, the family moved to Napanee, Ontario, a town with a population of approximately 5,000. Although she struggled to pay attention in school, sometimes being kicked out of class for misbehaving, her parents supported her singing. Her father bought her a microphone, a drum kit, a keyboard, and several guitars, and converted their basement into a studio. When Lavigne was 14, her parents would take her to karaoke sessions.

It was from her mother that she inherited her musical awareness and her infamous perfect pitch. When Julie was very young her parents separated, and her mother remarried a man named Ted Andrews who she had performed in a musical act with for couple of years.
