“Thou shalt not kill” is one of our Almighty Father’s Ten Commandments. To disobey this commandment is a mortal sin one has committed. As the world keeps evolving, our Father’s commandments especially that sixth one is ignored. Nowadays, instead of stronger faith and stronger values and discipline, ruthlessness and cruelty reigned. Who’s affected by these? Everyone. Even babies. Yes. Babies. The little treasures God has given were thrown away and were killed like insects. And majority doesn’t care about it. No one seems to care that the baby’s silent screams are ignored, and their lives are abolished. No one seems to care that, as you’re laughing with your friends and having the light of your life, someone’s heart had stopped and will never have the chance to beat life again. This is the reality of our world now wherein taking away a baby’s life is common, this is called abortion. Here in the Philippines, Abortion has always been a big problem. Teenagers are often the instigators of this brutal act. Due to their irresponsibility, lives are shattered. The reasons? They are afraid of being punished terribly by their parents, the baby’s a mistake and lastly, they cannot raise the child they created out of irresponsibility. Why must we deprive life to someone who’s worthy of living? Why must the babies suffer because of the things she/he has not done? Why must they be the one to pay the price of their parents’ mistakes? 3500 to 3700 babies are aborted everyday and with abortion rates increasing more, more hearts will stop beating, more eyes will not see, more ears will not hear, more hands will not feel, more feet will not walk and more lives would be shattered. “Thou Shalt not kill” Do you even care about this commandment at all? If we could just be more responsible, no one would be suffering, no one would be dying. With proper education, no one
