Sherry Myhaver Mr. Jason Hancock English Fundamentals September 10, 2011 Dog Training Cause And Effect The reason I was interested in blind , and visual impaired as a career? I have always had a great love for animals. In high school, I knew I wanted a job working with the blind. One day my best friend Kathy was walking home from work she became blind. The goal is giving men , woman, children, independence, freedom to travel safely, dignity. Each person has routines , lifestyle they live each day of there lives. The dogs are trained to keep each person safe. I enjoy working with the blind ,and training Guide Dogs it taught I the patience ,and understanding of others. The joys, the laughter I hear when I’m making someone happy in their lives are complete with there new companion animal going places without guidance of another person. Without a guide dog is lack of freedom ,always asking for help. No independence frustration , anger, resentement, depression. Not seeing anything such as colorful leaves on trees, or a television what’s going on the screen instead of hearing it. Not knowing what’s around I when walking the sidewalks , or seeing curbs, or people opening their car doors , and getting hurt. When I first started working for Seeing Eye, I signed a contract to become Guide Dog apprentice trainer for the next three years. My first day of work was on September 29, 1981. I even had to bring all papers documents such as driver’s license, high school diploma.
