Yates just wants his daughter to be happy and to have it in abundance to have it be known. He doesn’t want bad things he wants the best for her and to have her have those standards for herself just the best of everything. Question number one: The speaker’s fear of his daughter’s future is associated with “great gloom” that is in the speakers “mind” (L. 8) is not regarding his fear for her health. He is scared of how people will see her beauty “overmuch a sufficient end” (LL. 20-21).
Women are very influential. For Montag they help his transformation from a closed-minded man to a radical changing society. In Fahrenheit 451 everyone just plays by the rules, no questions asked. The women help Montag’s change in the novel by making him realize his emotions for others, why he should question the world, and stand up for what he believes in. Human emotions include love and compassion, which is still not simple enough for Montag’s generation.
Awakening Essay Freedom In The Awakening by Kate Chopin, Edna Pontellier is bound to a life of perfection and social status. Her husband, Leonce Pontellier controls her life and expects her to do everything he asks. Leonce’s expectations aren’t unreasonable because in that era wives were suppose to make their husbands look good, which meant tending to everything and doing whatever their husbands requested. Edna has an “awakening” and realizes that the strict social life is not what she wants. Being free and in control of her own life is what Edna craves.
Zerelda completely loves and is loyal to her son Jesse and would hate to see him come to harm. She is very protective of Jesse and shows this when she warns Bob Ford, “I want you to swear to god that your still Jesse’s friend.” (pg. 178) Implying that she loves him and would not want to see him get hurt in any way. So to Zerelda, no matter what Jesse does it can be forgiven or accepted because he can do no wrong in her eyes. Another reason Zerelda is willing to accept Jesse’s lifestyle is because it benefits her in certain ways.
In life people tend to use broad generalizations or stereo types to describe what someone does or is supposed to do with out giving them a chance to be their own voice of virtue . As Jeff Klein states in his work “its nice to have a girlfriend who’s got your back”, obviously you can see in a world full of stereo typical people there would be a great sense of confusion because in the stereo typical relationship the man will usually assess physical altercations and will protect his spouse at all costs. As you can see that is not what happens in this case Jeff’s girlfriend has been taking self defense courses to learn how to defend herself in the real world if need be. On their vacation she put these skills to the test when a drunken native to the city of Prague approaches her boyfriend jeff. It is also effective in describing its protagonist so that the reader can envision them before getting deep into the play. Conflict is displayed between Beatrice and Benedick. They call each other nicknames and also insult one another. As the scene progresses, Claudio displays how much he admires Hero. He wishes she could eventually become his wife because she is beautiful and compassionate.
