To be a teenager is to be in a time of fluctuation and more often than not in western society, a time of rebellion. There are certain rituals that take place during the teens such as socializing with friends in a place other than school, more responsibilities around the house and less juvenile relationships with members of the opposite sex. Biologically teenagers change dramatically, with girls usually starting their periods and maturing into a phase where their bodies get ready to have children whereas boys develop facial hair, their voices deepen and other matters. They also become more aware of themselves sexually and it is this period in which most people are experimental with their sexuality as well as drugs and their own personal style. In today’s modern and fast paced society, teenagers have had to rush through life and begin adulthood earlier than the generations before.
Vulgar language routinely appears in programs and movies which is accessible to youth. It is realistic and believable to younger youth which can lead them to aggressiveness. As with our American youth viewing these ideas, these images are imposed on the viewers, especially the younger generation. There is a huge amount of younger children that sit and watch television for many hours. In doing that it will handicap their brains.
The music of Marilyn Manson, video nasties, and lack of parental control were all cited.” Two of those three reasons fall into the category of music violence and prove that derogatory words and phrases changes the youth negatively. The youth in todays society are very vulnerable and look up to the artists in the music industry. One study that was recently taken recorded the type of music a group of young adults listened to and their response to it. The study says that “94% reported listening to music daily or almost daily” and of that 94% “69% reported listening to rap music often”(Chen). The study then examined the use of alcohol from the teenagers after listening to rap music.
As children move from adolescents to young adulthood they encounter dramatic physical, emotional, and lifestyle changes. The younger that children and adolescents are when they start to drink alcohol are more likely to engage in behaviors that can harm themselves and others. A few reasons that adolescents begin to start drinking is because of peer pressure, they are influenced by their parents or guardians, genetic and hereditary factors. Peer pressure is something that everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives. Adolescents tend to give in sometimes even if they know it's wrong but they do it to fit in with a group of people. The idea of "
Many daytime talk shows are all about making money and to gain high ratings. Therefore, many people need to stop watching these unhealthy talk shows. Imber-Black explains that children have become so much effected by hearing their parents' secrets for the first time. Also, these kids have to face shame among other kids in the classroom. Unsuspecting parents may be unaware of drug use in their children. I’m trying to find out ways to help reduce usage and abuse against teenagers and young adult to help better the younger generation and make them a strong minded human being. Reducing this can benefit the society in major ways because most of the younger adults who drop out of school are related to illicit drug usages and abuse. I. “Young people and drugs abuse”.
But is this right, should parents even, principals just blow bullying off like that? Maybe we've seen a bigger kid shoving a smaller kid around, or a girl with less money shunned because her clothes aren't nice enough or she doesn't live in the right neighborhood. Both situations involve bullying, and it's a serious problem in elementary and middle schools nationwide. Too often, we don't take bullying seriously. Young people who are bullied are more likely to skip school or completely drop out.
Students should be doing the right thing willingly. If we got paid to do the right thing, it would cause more tension in the school. This would happen because kids would be snitching about every little thing that happened. 8 out of 10 kids are against this idea. Every day kids would only think to go to school to snitch.
The 1960’s popular culture includes things such as music, TV shows, films, radio, advertisements, fashion, hippies and drugs. All these popular culture in the 1960’s had provided negative and positive things to the society. Negative areas of popular culture were mainly problems with bad influence to the younger generation and how they would admire those great successors and treat them as guide lines for life. Some evidence to prove this point was that the criminal rates increased by 124% in the 1960’s. Just from these figures, we could see that there must be a source for this result, as many people say; it could be caused by the popular culture and the bad influence from it.
They have made bad decisions in their life and they are getting publicity out of it. Is this really the type of thing that you want your child to be looking up at? Seeing these popular movies, television and teen icons influences us to think that it is cool to be pregnant at a young age. The media is influencing us too much, we follow whatever the "trend" is and we don't think for ourselves.
