Diversity Reflection I was blessed with a diverse background due to my father’s military career. I was well traveled from a young age and interacted with many different types of people, all with different races, cultures, and traditions. These people and experiences made me who I am today and taught me not to judge people because of their different lifestyles. Everyone has a purpose in this world and every person has something to offer. I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 9, 1995. My dad was on TDY (temporary duty) there at the Air Force Base. While my mom was pregnant with me she went to visit him from Abilene, Texas. After I was born, my parents, my older sister, Katie, and I all moved back to Texas. After living there for about a year, we moved to Columbus, Mississippi. This is where my sister, Lauren, was born. We lived there for three years before moving to Germany. Moving to Europe was a huge adjustment for my family, especially my parents. But it was an absolutely amazing experience for us. I got to see so many amazing places in the three years that we lived there including: France, England, Switzerland and Austria. In addition, we traveled all over Germany. We met many different types of people there and made many friends with the locals of the town. Living among the Germans was much different than living in America. They had a much more relaxed lifestyle, nothing like the crazy-hectic way of the Americans. This taught me to enjoy life’s little moments and not to run by them while moving on to the next thing. After living in Germany for three years my family and I made the long trip back to the USA where we arrived at our next assignment: Swansea, Illinois. We were able to visit the Gateway Arch while living
