“If I have to wait here one more minute I’m going to start punching babies”. Brittany whined as we slowly made our way through the Splash Mountain waiting line in Disney World, supposedly the happiest place on Earth. Soon another family had joined in singing in a language I had recognized as Italian, then shortly after: German, French, Spanish, and a few more dialects I wasn’t familiar with. The song began to flow from one country to the other as everyone around us began serenading these to girls in their native languages. Smiles ran large across everyone’s faces and to our surprise the singing didn’t stop there. Each nationality seemed to have their own well know song to chime in with, one after another. We had all forgotten our unfortunate mood and situation from before, learning to make the best of what we had and where we were through a universal language -
