Disease Risk Assessment

The disease risk assessment that I took was for diabetes. The reason why I chose to do this assessment was because my family has a family history of being diagnosed with diabetes. Also, my doctor was telling me that I could become diabetic because of the poor eating habits and exercise. Before going to the doctor I figured that I was going have to be having some issues because I’m a little over weight. My doctor also gave me a challenge to lose 5-10 pounds in 3 months. I’m hoping that I stay focus and have these couple pounds off of me. The assessment that I took results was that I am above average for getting diabetes. They are plenty more recommendations for losing weight but it’s not or has ever been all about losing weight. I don’t like eating veggies but this was one of the recommendations that the assessment gave me. I have to try to eat more veggies that are green and fresh. When I was younger I did not grow up eating veggies so this is why now I dislike eating them now. Lately I found out that eating white rice or white bread are unhealthy. I guess that’s a little too much starch for me. It’s going to be really hard for me to be able to don’t eat certain things again but the hardest thing is going to be when I’m ready for my late night snack. I love eating snacks and chocolates. Being positive about everything will help me on my journey to a better and thinner me. I know if I’m able to pass this certain point in life I would be able to achieve anything that I put my mind into achieving. The one thing that this assessment did not say that you have to have is a strong mind and open mind also, willing to go all the way. No stopping me once I have started.
