Yiran Gong English 120 Professor Popova 19 Feb, 2012 Different cultures and different relationship At present, the most of the people do not know which kind of life Native American have. People never touch their life and ask about them. It seems like nobody remember the original indigenous peoples. “Smoke Signal” is a film tell about the life in Indian. The Victor and Thomas are the characters in this film, and they are two different Indian in this culture, but their lives are connecting together. This film is telling people the truth life and thought about Native American. In addition, it explains the unusual cultures in unusual place. “It is extremely cultural and very specific in many ways, it also talks about some universal qualities father and forgiveness”(Filmmaker magazine). This film is also talked about the house meaning in the people’s heart. Everyone has the different explain about home in their mind but the “Smoke Signal” is very clearly talking about the father and son’s relationship. “’Smoke Signal’ is a great example of home. Eyre says: ’it’s about a boy who misses his estranged father, then the father dies, and he does not get to reconnect with him’”(10 years after Smoke Signals). According to the film, the Victor is a very handsome Indian boy, and Thomas is a small boy. He really likes smile and telling people story. Victor’s father saved Thomas from a fire but Thomas’s was dead when they both are babies, then Thomas just stay with his grandmother. In one day, Victor’s father leaves the home when Victor still is a small boy for ten years. Victor and his father’s relationships are not really good because his father always drinks and always beat Victor’s mom and Victor. “Victor: ’I do not drink, never had a drop of alcohol in my life, not a drop”(Smoke Signal). There is someone calling Victor’s mother and said Arnold was dead. She
