Developmental profiles assignment #1 (audience and purpose) Developmental profiles assignment #1 (audience and purpose) Surbhi Mishra Sheridan College Id# 991223235 Professor: Cynthia Lockwood 12th February, 2011 Scenarios Scenario #2 While carrying the red, green, yellow, black and orange paint pots from the shelf to the table Janitha (4 years, 5 months old) accidentally drops the pot of red paint onto the floor. Erika (4 years, 1 month old) runs to Brigette (the preschool teacher) and states “Janitha spilded the paint on the floor!” Janitha yells, “It wasn’t me, it was Sparky (Janitha’s invisible dog)”. Brigette approaches Janitha and says "What a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have rarely seen such a large spill of paint. Would you like to get down and play in the paint for a few minutes before we clean it up?" Janitha, Brigette and Erika make hand prints and foot prints around the spill for a few minutes. After a while Brigette says, "You know girls, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that? We could use a sponge, a towel or a mop. Which do you prefer?" Erika choses the sponge, while Brigette and Janitha use the mop; together they all clean up the spilled paint and the hand and foot prints. Response to Scenario #2 1.
