African Americans are becoming extremely health conscious and are following up on health care, getting educated on diseases, healthcare and illness prevention. Older African Americans are still suspicious of the healthcare system due to past experiences for example the Tuskegee experiment, the younger population are embracing health care and modern medicine.. African Americans too, believe in prayer, spiritual healing and God as a health protective behavior secondary to nutrition and that good health depends on fate or destiny. They seek health care when illness occur and do routine follow ups post illness occurrence. Some African Americans are very good with researching how to continue to improve health care for themselves and their families and continuously seek out health care providers for advice on staying

Whatever is the correct answer, measures need to be put in place to ensure our children receive the medical treatment they deserve, while at the same time reduce spending. Spending on the Federal Government Health care programs in 2009 was 28.1% of the GDP and in 2010 was 24.4% of the GDP. Reductions we slight between 2009 and 2010, but much more needs to be done to reduce the spending on these programs to see a significant reduction in the National Debt segment of Federal Government health Care
