The food is the best, and the fans are great to mingle with. I have been very fortunate in the last few years to be at many regular season games, two playoff games and the home run derby during the all-star break. I have also collected many autographs from former MVP’s and Cy Young award winners before the games. There is nothing else like a postseason playoff game at Busch Stadium. There is an electric feeling in the air as soon as you get out of your car in the parking lot.
Its not just about the game when your at the stadium. Its about the roar of the crowd, the excitement in the air and how your stomach growls at the smell of hotdogs. My dad and I had a great time that day. We ate hotdogs, we drank soda, we watched the game and we talked about it all the way home. Every time I look at my commemorative baseball I see the bright yellow threads that hold together both sides of the baseball.
Crystal eulogizes Robin Williams: "He was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy" A tearful Billy Crystal toasted his longtime friend Robin Williams during the Emmys to cap off the show's "In Memoriam" segment. "He made us laugh hard, every time you saw him on television, movies, nightclubs, arenas, hospitals, homeless shelters, for our troops overseas and even in a dying girl's living room," Crystal said of Williams in a carefully measured tribute. "The brilliance was astounding. The relentless energy was kind of thrilling. I used to think if I could just put a saddle on him and stay on for eight seconds, I was going to do okay."
I was a warm summer night, the smell of corn dogs, cotton candy, and funnel cakes filled the air. That’s right its rodeo time in East Texas. It was my time to shine, the rodeo was half over and before the announcer could finish his sentence I was on the arena floor. Yep you guessed it, it’s the annul critter scramble, in case you were wondering what that is, it’s were all the rodeo committee turns all kinds of little animals out and if the kids catch them they can bring the animal home. Okay, okay enough of the boring stuff let’s get back to the story.
Despite the crisp cold air and the endless drives to tournaments, I would always see him in the stands pounding his hands together rooting for my team. However, I believe that family can include people that are no blood related. Almost everyone has best friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends whom they love and respect just as much as their own family. I see my close friends five out of seven days of the week. We do everything from just hanging out when were bored, going to Giants games, going to parties, and all other sorts of activities.
Sara McKenna Comp and Lit 1 It's sweltering hot out, at least 95 degrees with no breeze or shade. I feel nothing but the sun reflecting off my skin and sweat dripping down my face. My teammates and fans are cheering me on along with my coach, who happens to be my father, telling me to "Push it!" I play this scenario over and over again hoping it will ease the pressure, but nothing could have prepared me for this moment. Bottom of the seventh inning, bases loaded, two outs, my team is up by one run, and the count on the batter is three balls and two strikes.
Waking up in Chicago, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with my sons on a sunny day was great. We all ate breakfast and headed out to our daily lives. On my way to class, I heard a lot of ambulance sirens, and police cars heading towards the city, but I had somewhere to be, so I didn’t pay much attention. During class we heard loud gun shots, people screaming, and as we looked out the window we saw people being eaten by other people. Then as a class we quickly realize that it was a Zombie apocalypse happening.
He just slammed it over and over out of the park. One day after a big game he went out to celebrate with his couch, who was imaginary of course because Don Jenkins was a one man team. He stopped at the local market to pick up his cottage cheese fix for the night. He grabbed 5 litres, more than he had ever eaten in one sitting. Needless to say, it was going to be a big night.
Blue and white filled the streets with football fans praising the Giants for their victory in the Super Bowl. The enthusiasm from the fans appeared to be pulsating as if the streets, itself, had a heartbeat. After an extremely chaotic morning and several beers later, my stomach began to growl obnoxiously. To wind down such a festive day in the Big Apple, my husband and I decided to have dinner at Carmine’s in the Theatre District. Three criteria must be met for my husband and me to have an amazing dining experience.
Different banners, everyone in their own outfits supporting their main team. It was truly fascinating to see. Tonight’s game was definitely going to be one of the highlights of the year. One hour before the game, the teams were preparing for probably the hardest game of their careers. Fans took their seats awaiting this action packed game.
