The attack on September 11, 2001 still leaves me with a lot of anger. This tragic attack not only affected me, but it also hurt many other people in the Unites States. Things like this can occur at any time, so that is what is so scary. Who would have ever thought that people would hijack a pair of airplanes to crash into the Twin Towers? First of all, I was in the third grade when this happened. I honestly had no idea what this really meant, but I can still remember seeing everyone at my school crying because at that point nobody knew what else was bound to happen. The teacher got everybody’s attention in the classroom and explained that there was a terrorists attack on our country. She couldn’t help but to cry while she was telling us this tragic story. Everyone in the classroom started crying even though we weren’t really sure what was going on. We knew that if our teacher was crying that it must have been a pretty bad thing. As I grew up, I started to realize how important this event was to the United States. It definitely made our country stronger in many ways because we started to build up our military personnel. We lost a lot of people because of that attack, so that really hurt me on the inside. It made me pretty angry and I wanted our military to do everything possible to get back at them for what they have done. The years have passed and I still think about this event almost every day. It is truly amazing how we take our freedom for granted, and not realize how important truly is. There are people out there fighting for our country every single day and some people don’t respect that as much as they should. There are many questions that are left unanswered after them attack on September 11. People wonder what drove the terrorists to do what they did, but we will probably never know the real answer.
