People can always reach out and develop relationships in order to stave of the “meanness” of isolation. Prejudices in the 1930’s kept people isolated itinerant worker life harsh and kept people on move and on their own.Tired of constantly reminding Lennie of things he should remember, George gets quickly angry when Lennie forgets to get the firewood, for example, and instead goes after the dead mouse. On the other hand, George's anger is quickly under control, and he blames himself for scolding Lennie. In fact, Steinbeck makes clear that, despite his complaining and frustration, George looks out for Lennie and genuinely cares for him.

This is because society in general has stereotyped views about mental illness and how it affects people. Many people believe that people with mental ill health are violent and dangerous, when in fact they are more at risk of being attacked or harming themselves than harming other people.
Mary Alice was also very unhappy when Grandma told her about buttering Bootsie’s paws. Mary Alice did not like that Bootsie became an independent cat because that meant the part of her company had left her and no longer yearned for her attention. Grandma wasn’t too fond of Halloween. That year, when Mary Alice was visiting, the word got around that a group of boys had been trashing people’s port-a-pottys. Grandma planned a steak out and they waited until the boys came around.

Fairly quickly the idea of playing outside went from “boisterous games” to being “too poor to sit in the house.” With this sentence the manipulation of Hurston’s point of view begins. Through the eyes of a child playing outside is a wonderful privilege. Through the eyes of Hurston’s mother, it was the only way to experience “any pleasure.” To Hurston’s parents, life was a test and they were trying to get themselves, and Hurston, through it. Hurston’s father had a negative point of view on life and always seemed to be putting Hurston down (for her own good perhaps?) he often threatened to break her spirit or “kill [her] in the attempt.” In a perhaps less blunt way, Hurston’s mother showed that she too, had a fearful and negative outlook on the world.
In Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck argues that being loyal is a valuable concept in life, but can sometimes be very difficult. His message is sometimes in relationships, everything can go the wrong way and you have nothing else to do except the right thing, even if it isn’t being loyal. Since Lennie didn’t know allot of things about life and common sense, George is forced to teach him everything. Sitting down by the river after running away from their job because of Lennie again, a pissed off George yells, “Well, we ain’t got any, whatever we ain’t got that’s what you want.” (11) Lennie’s lack of intelligence and his actions repeatedly effect their job security. George is not only forced to deal with the consequences of these actions but be takes them on as his own

This makes George look like a reminder for Lennie as Lennie wont be able to remember a lot of things by himself, also this foreshadows later events in the novel because after Lennie killed Curleys wife, George had to remind him about the place to run to. Lennie strokes Curleys wifes hair. This foreshadows later events in the novel because Lennie also strokes a pet mouse. ''I could pet it with my thumb while we walk along; said Lennie''.
Though the thought of harming her parents reels Claudia from confronting them, the role of initiating intimate communication lies with the parents, which is why Claudia’s parents have failed her. As a result of their failure, the interactions between Claudia, the electrical box, and the stolen socks reveals the combined stress of anguish and lack of communication. Soon after David’s remarriage, the subsequent death of Romeo and Juliet gives insight to Claudia’s thoughts. Several nuances in the play demonstrate that within Claudia’s thoughts, her parents are symbolised by her goldfishes. The most obvious nuance is the naming of her goldfishes after a male and female from a love story (6).

To a believer, shame is something that can alter a spiritual progress. Shame can often get the best of people to the point of action which is what happened in Amir's case. In the Kite Runner, there are many people who are impacted by shame for what they have done or said.
