So say if you act out on these attitudes, it could have a bad effect on the children your working with and other children they might know, and you would not want them to copy your own actions in a result. Everyone from child to adult that we may meet on a day to day basis could have a different opinion to mine, and are more than likely will have different values and mind sets. When you are around children of your own or other parents children, you have to be in control of the things you are saying and the actions you are taking, because children can take so much information and tend to copy what an adult says and does, as most children will see there family and other adults as a role model. Like me for example, i act almost the same age as the children i work with, but yet at the same time i act a mature age to show them what they should and should not say and be careful of what i am saying to the children when with them in class. If we go and show bad attitude and show that we are negative to certain people around them.
This paper aims to clarify the strengths of Parsons’ arguments, such as the functionality and effectiveness of certain systems within our culture, while contrasting the outdated viewpoints which he presents that might not be as applicable in today’s modern times considering the amount of social changes and open opportunities that are now available to both sexes. Parsons introduces his ideas on the “kinship system” by discussing the family structure, focusing in on the various life stages that a child goes through to emancipate themselves from the ties they have gained from their parents and other family members. The familiarity and comfort of such ties eventually become a burden and must be cut off in order for an individual to become a fully functional member of our society. The article goes on to state that one of the most difficult stages of growing older would be adolescence, where a “youth culture” is practiced, allowing for a passageway meant to ease “the difficult process of adjustment from childhood emotional dependency to full ‘maturity’” (Parsons 1943: 301). Comparing the theories of Jung and Maslow could take hours since each one had enough to say about what their beliefs were about the human condition. But while Carl Jung focused on how the unconscious affected our personality (Introversion and Extraversion), Abraham Maslow focused on the integration of self (Self-Actualization Theory). These three men have studied human personality and have some conclusions in common and others they have their different opinions about personality Sigmund Freud’s work supported the belief that not all mental illnesses have physiological causes and he also offered evidence that cultural differences have an impact on psychology and behavior. Jung believed the human psyche exists in three parts: the ego (the conscious mind), the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. Jung believed the collective unconscious was a reservoir of all the experience and knowledge of the human species.
Also evolutional (inherited from parents) could have an effect on how a child behaves as in the child’s genetics it might be that they are susceptible to violence this means that the child may have more violent tendencies. Also if a child grows up in a hostile environment they may believe that it is normal and it will sculpt their behaviour aggressively in day to day activities. The theorist which links with this psychology aspect is Abraham Maslow. His theory is based on a hierarchy of basic human needs in which they need to have in order to function in society. Maslow says that once you have achieved each level of needs you then get to self-actualisation, this is when you try to fit in with peers, thus changing your behaviour so it is alike theirs.
Psychologists then use their understanding of learning and behavior to treat psychological disorders and addictions. Concepts of learning and behavior are used in various parenting styles. Finally, our knowledge also applied to develop more effective curriculums or training programs for children versus adults. 2) How is prejudice developed and nurtured through classical and operant conditioning? Education is important with this form of treatment so clients can recognize how different factors affect the course of the disease and what they can do to manage these factors (Steinkuller and Rheineck 342). Family therapy is also a means of treatment where family members as well as the client see a mental health provider to find solutions and ways to deal with the disorder. Family involvement provides structure and could increase adherence to treatment leading to delays or reductions in relapses (Steinkuller and Rheineck 342). Interpersonal and social rhythm therapy involves stabilizing social and circadian rhythms based on the hypotheses that unstable daily routines result in increased bipolar episodes in individuals prone to them (Steinkuller and Rheineck 349). Social rhythm therapy recognizes the need for regular sleep/wake cycles, regulation of meals, exercise, sleep and plans for keeping rhythms stable when disruptions occur.
This theory further suggests that an individual’s behavior is informed by and inseparable from the functioning of his or her family of origin (GoodTherapy.org, 2007-2015). The second family systems therapy that I chose to research was Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is based on the premise that therapists help the client or family focus and understand on the solution(s) to their problem(s) instead of understanding the problem(s) itself. SFBT ultimate goal is to create a solution based on the solution of the problem while empowering clients or members of the families to build their self-esteem and independence. In this type of therapy it is imperative that the therapist disregard their own worldview and adapt to their clients or families worldview. The goals for the family in SFBT should be definitive, small, positive, and important to the client or family (Cepeda & Davenport, 2006).
Human behaviour can change depending on the setting we are put in. There are different aspects which can affect our behaviour, influencing how we feel, think and behave. People are part of the causal effect as we as human beings want to belong; no one wants to be left out on their own. All human beings act differently in different situations, because no one is the same. However in today's society, psychologists have been able to do research on the way human’s behaviour react in different situations with different participants to be able to get a generalized result but to do so they must first distinguish if the participant is showing social or personal identities.
