A child who enters school healthy and feels safe is ready to learn and will most likely love school. Proper childcare, parenting skills and community resources play a major role in education. Statewide initiatives such as First Steps and Early Head Start are vital to children during the early stages of life. These programs meet the needs of the entire family including parenting classes,
We use a quickscan, and VAK test which helps to determine the learner style, (Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic). From the results we can evaluate the correct level and course for the learner to be on and also if additional support is needed throughout the course. Support must be in place before during and after initial assessment. For me I have a LSA in the workshop with me to assist with the learners who may require it. Within the teaching role of my subject it is important I provide a safe learning environment for all students, ensuring that they all engage and participate actively in practical and theory lessons alike.
Effective communication is fundamental in developing positive relationships with children, young people and adults alike. In the role of Classroom Assistant it is vital to develop good, appropriate relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and any other professional third party agencies involved in a child’s care and education. To provide a conducive learning environment, adults in the classroom must work together by communicating clearly and professionally with each other, both verbally and non-verbally. This will avoid confusion and inconsistency during lessons. For example I find it essential to discuss the day’s lesson plan and targets with my class teacher.
Students awarded Qualified Teacher Status need to “Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment” (DfES, 2012). According to a review by EPP (2004), Initial Teacher Education (ITE) is a crucial focus for action in the area of behaviour management as it provides a unique opportunity to establish the foundations for effective practice. Under jurisdiction, the United Kingdom Government has the responsibility to provide free, compulsory education for all primary aged children allowing children to reach the best of their abilities achieving their fullest potential (United Nations, 1989). I believe it is therefore the responsibility of all teachers to keep updated with current research to provide each and every child they teach, the best possible positive and safe engaging learning environments that they can. I believe that as a teacher you are not only a provider of knowledge but also a role model for a child.

It should be clear what your schools ethos , missions , aims and values are by walking around the school itself as pupils and staff should carry it out in everyday practice . It should be clear that children are the main focus in school with the surroundings showing this in a variety of ways , children should be forming relationships and a positive atmosphere in school which shows both staff and pupils take pride in there surroundings , a link with the wider community is essential for keeping a good school and to provide a safe and secure enviroment in which to learn . My schools mission statement is :- Moor Park Primary is a Happy, Caring School Where Everyone Matters’ ‘Learning for Life’ Moor Park was built in 1952 to accommodate the post war ‘baby boom’. It has been extended and modernised in stages since then. In 2005 the Infants and Juniors amalgamated, a Nursery was built and we became Moor Park Primary School, providing education for children from 3-11 years of age.
Collaboration with families also adds to mutual problem solving and shared decision making. Teachers, schools and districts can earn family support through effective collaboration. Students benefit from parental involvement by showing strong feelings of self-worth and self-satisfaction. Parents are able to learn skills which assist in improving their child’s academic growth. For example, they can learn behavior management techniques and communication strategies.
Regular feedback regarding a child’s behavior is also important to keep the parents aware. At my practicum site, I observed that the teacher communicates with the parent on a regular basis. Part of this conversation includes recommendations for parents to guide their children in changing their behaviors with a positive attitude. When talking to the parents, it is important to be brief, clear and concise when describing a behavior issue. The educators must be polite, positive and focus on fixing the problem and should not blame the parent for a child’s behavior.
1.4 Explain the importance of clear principles and policies to support the engagement of parents in their child’s early learning By having clear principles and policies, everyone knows what is expected of them, why and what support is available. Having clear policies in place ensures the parents and the settings can support each other effectively and work together to support the child's learning. I got told to give examples for this so I would look at the policies for your setting and explain how they are clear and how they support the parents. 2.1 Explain and demonstrate how parents are engaged as partners in their child’s early learning Half of this is demonstrate so you also have to show your tutor how you do this in person when they visit you. For the other half I would look at how your setting supports the parents.
I will always keep the parents involved and welcome them into the room to watch how their children learn. When the school year ends, your child will know how o spell their name and have new learning skills. Mission statement: I am here to work with your children and find a good learning path for each of the students. I will develop different learning styles and find what works best each student. I will listen to what suggestions parents can make to help improve the classroom and make it a better learning environment.
