Rosemary Vargas Cano English 1301 Definition Essay 5/20/11 Definition of Archangels Our minds are like a book, we learn a new word through the vocabulary in our everyday lives. It starts from the beginning of time, the creator of earth made man and woman. According to the dictionary archangels are a group of heavenly beings in the Celestial Choir hierarchy. The origin, history, antonym, and cause and effect of this word will be presented. The origin of the term Archangels comes from the Greek word “Angelologia", being combined into two words. “Angelos” meaning angel (messenger) and “logos” meaning the word of angels. They were the head angels that god had created to rule over the cherubim. Archangels where first stated in the Hebrew bible where they tell the story of how they came to be which they were known as malakhi Elohim; Angels of God. It is said that they were put on earth to do the work of god. God had created three archangel Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer, to rule over the angelic realm and cherubim. They have been around for millions of years, which they say were the first teachers on the spiritual path to do Gods well bending for mankind. God, creates seven archangels know as “The Seven Rays of Enlightenment”, all having a specific job to do. As time passes on we know of them through the years of exists, the different bibles that have come a long way through time, and the many religious that have come to be throughout the years. In the eyes of a human being an archangel can be a guide into becoming a good person, yet can also be an evil spirit luring an individual into committing evil choices. A man or woman can think upon an archangel as a divine messenger of God, but in the back of someone’s mind can be a beast with a false message.
