People tend to say they lie because the truth hurts but really it is what it is “The Truth”. I realize that by being honest and telling the truth it gives me peace of mind that I am doing the right thing. These strengths help me in my day-to-day life by allowing me to love and be loved, treat people the way I want to be treated, helping others, and being honest regardless of the outcome. All these are great qualities that employers look for in an employee. Employers want people that are good team players, customer oriented and honest.
Meanwhile, if they deal with an upset customer, they have to be respectable and happy to them. A good employee also doesn’t complain. If they are asked to do a job that they don’t like, they do it. No matter what is going on, an employee always has to have a positive attitude. The second important trait a good employee has is, being proactive.
Racial Micro-aggressions against Minorities Jose P. Polanco Carlos Albizu University PSYM 523-A Racial Micro-aggressions against Minorities The term micro-aggressions are consider a brief everyday exchanges that send demeaning messages to certain individuals because of their group memberships. The nature of racism has evolve over time from the old fashioned overt expressions of White supremacy and racial hatred to the more subtle, ambiguous, and unintentional expressions called aversive racism. Because most White people associate racism with hate crimes and White supremacist groups, they are unaware how racism has taken on an invisible nature to the extent that they have lost the perception of unintentional racism towards people of color. White Americans believe that discrimination is on the decline, that racism is not a significant issue that has an impact in their behavior and performance. In contrast, Black Americans perceive that racism is a constant reality in their lives, White individuals continue to respond toward them.
They will also look for someone who is reliable, honest, hardworking, dependable, and have the skills to do the job they were hired to do. For example, if an employer hires someone who has a record of always being on time, being dependable, honest, and trustworthy then the employer knows that the person has a good personality and they are not lazy. However, if the same employer is looking for someone and they notice the opposite of the other person then this is telling them that they cannot be relied upon to do a job therefore, they are lazy. By comparing the two people this will tell the employer what type of personality they have either good or bad. In what ways is it a disadvantage? I would rate my own achievement motivation as responsibility because I prefer being, in my view in control for a task so that I can feel fulfilled when a job is properly performed (Carpenter 294). Also, it is gratifying to know that someone can put forth to you such a task knowing that you are capable of completing it successfully. That to me is an advantage in itself. Not to mention completing such tasks can earn
A good leader is a leader with character. Having such characteristics such as being morally excellent, well-behaved, being proper and virtuous could obviously be characteristics of a good leader. Other characteristics of a good leader include, being unspoiled, fresh, healthy, and being excellent in degree or quality. What would you consider traits of a good leader with character? We can also increase our self-image by discriminating and holding prejudiced views against the out group (the group we don’t belong to). For example, the Americans, French etc. are a bunch of losers! Therefore we divided the world into “them” and “us” based through a process of social categorization (i.e. we put people into social groups).
Assertiveness is a form of behavior which demonstrates your self -respect and respect for others. Discuss the relevance of this statement to successful personal and career development. Undoubtedly assertiveness is built on the foundation of respect for self as well as respect for others and this augers well for the successful development of self and career. The acquisition of this positive behavioral skill allows an individual to stand up for his or her rights while respecting the rights of others. Assertiveness allows an individual to stand up for self, to communicate with clarity about issues, to be open and honest, to be an effective listener, to take responsibility for one’s feelings, and to engage in conflict resolution with a win-win approach.
As a Christian myself I feel this discrimination is brought on by the lack of their knowledge in the bible. People can see public affection at every store, restaurant, alley, and street, just everywhere. When straight men and women show public affection no one cares. But when homosexuals do it, someone has to make a hostile comment. Gays should be able to do everything a straight person gets to do without someone saying something rude.
But nevertheless, even cultural diversity is not strong enough to untie the majority of American society’s blindfold. For years, the gay liberation movement has been a civil rights movement calling for the basic human rights denied to the gay community in a country that is built on the very same basic rights. Today, the fight is stronger than ever, as the gay community asserts that they are stigmatized and oppressed by those who label them as deviants. The community’s “violation” of norms has the church calling its practices immoral. But,
