This initiative was to see if factors are reliable in increasing compliance rates among all categories of hospital workers. Factors associated with poor hand hygiene compliance include: being a doctor versus being a nurse, surgical unit and intensive care unit (ICU) setting versus medical unit setting, wearing gloves and gown, before patient contact versus after patient contact, performing high-risk activities, weekdays versus weekends, having a high number of opportunities for hand hygiene per hour, and overcrowding or understaffing. The study was conducted in the United States in an urban academic medical & level I trauma center for the intervention time frame of July 2008 to December 2012. A dedicated lift team assists nurses and other staff when they cannot safely move patients. Since the initiative was launched in 2002, lift related injuries have fallen 60 percent. The team consists of 12 specially trained personnel who are available 21.5 hours per day, seven days a week. When a nurse needs assistance, he or she pages the team. Response time is about 15 minutes and the team averages about 100 calls per day.

Introduction This project will focus on the communication environment of the New Gulf Coast Surgery Center in Ocean Springs, MS. The New Gulf Coast Surgery Center is an ambulatory surgery center. The center handles over thirty outpatient surgeries per day for six days a week. There are many procedures performed at the facility, but the main focus is on Gastroenterology. The facility has four Gastroenterologists who perform the procedures at the facility.
Utilization Analysis and Issues Objective: Iona ambulatory care consultants will conduct a utilization analysis of Medical Associates program and services to identify the relevant characteristics of the patients and their market implications. At Middleboro there are twenty-three physician staff offering nine different services to its patients. Gastroenterology, General Surgeon and Urology are three programs that are not offered at the Jasper location. Other services at this facility include Cardiology, ENT, Internal medicine, OB/GYN, Orthopedic Surgeon, and Pediatrics. There are fewer programs offered that the Japer facility with a physician staff of seven people.
