Decision in Paradise Part 1 Meria Bowen MGT/350 November 10, 2011 Antoinette Holman Decision in Paradise Part 1 Kava is a significant island in the South Pacific. Years ago, many people travel to the islands to enjoy the feel of paradise. When people think of the word island they imagine beautiful sweet perfect thoughts, and they think that nothing is out of order. Kava is a unique place to honeymoon, relax, and vacate. Chris Morales is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Wal-Mart’s internationally. This is a profitable organization that can bring a great presence to Kava by ensuring better job opportunities for adults and nonprofit charities for youths and adolescents. Chris assigned Nicholas (Nik) and Alex to analyze, synthesizes, and lay out their decision-making skills and techniques to bring Kava back to norm. Nik and the love of his life were sure that when Nik arrived at Kava, he would see island greeters, beautiful beaches with white sand, gentle waves, and different types of palm trees with the smell of tropical breeze. Instead from the arrival to the destination, everything was a wreck; the island was full of debris from tornadoes, hurricanes, tidal waves, floods, fires, and other natural disaster. The island also has environmental disasters such as: HIV/AIDS, petroleum spill, avian flu, and terrorism attacks. Because the country has a shortage of medical supplies; children and adults are not receiving proper treatments. Kava had a population of mixed indulgencies together with; French, English, and Spanish languages with 50 percent of the population being under the age of 15 (UOPX, 2011). Nik, the chief operation officer (COO), met with Alex, the strategic planner, and to his and her surprise, they had different perspectives of one another.
