Today’s society faces many controversial issues. These issues create a ripple effect that reach people all over the world. One issue that every country faces is that of immigration laws. What is immigration anyway and why do we have laws against who can and cannot enter our countries? Immigration laws have become very strict to the point that it has become a controversial subject that is affecting the entire world! There are many people for immigration and many that are against it. The variation in opinions is broad and affects all parts of the world. There are many reasons why people are for and against immigration. So whose ideas of immigration are best? How can we better our world with the integration and mixing of people and different cultures? Here in the United States of America, we were founded on freedom and individual rights; however now the government of the United States is telling people who can be an American citizen and who cannot. It is now even to the point where people of some different nations have to go through a long rigorous process just to get an okay from the US government just to visit! Is the United States just being domineering or is there a method behind all of the madness? I believe immigration is a good thing, especially for America because it helps to globalize Americans and it helps people find more opportunities. Each country has a different set of laws and regulations when it comes to allowing people over their borders. For some countries these laws and regulations are lenient while others are very strict. In the past few years the immigration laws in America have gotten exceedingly more meticulous mainly due to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
