Bullying in Schools Before we can discuss the different types of bullying, we must first have an understanding of what bullying is. Bullying is an aggressive behavior that involves unwanted negative actions; a pattern of behavior repeated over time and involves an imbalance of power or strength. Bullying has many different versions. It can include physical which consists of hitting, slapping, and shoving in a hurtful way, just to name a few. There's also verbal, and some examples of this are name calling, put downs, threats and intimidation.
Schooling life is a important part to all of the teenagers. Since they start their school life, every day they meet their classmates and teachers more than their parents. The “A” students have good performance in all of the test, teachers love them. But they don't have friends in school nor clubs. Isn't it a big problem we have to worried about?
Pet Peeve Speech In school the idea that we all learn differently and in our own ways is stressed to us from kindergarten right up to your senior year. I don't disagree with that at all, in fact I feel deeply that we all do in fact learn in ways unique to us. The teachers and staff here at Iron Mountain High School do a fantastic job of catering to the needs of individuals who have troubles grasping concepts or just can't seem to understand something the first time it's explained to them. Once again I'm fine with that, but not everyone needs that much help. Not everyone wants that much help!
Mindsets In the nonfictional book, “Mindset” written by Carol S. Dweck, she mentions that students get fixed mindsets. There are many ways to cause a student to have one because students may tend to take what parents, teachers, etc… say seriously. She also says that most students get their mindsets from the transaction to a junior high. Students with a fixed mindset will always have bad grades, and the fact that they will always try to blame someone else. A student’s mindset comes from negative labeling from parents or teachers, or stereotypes based on race and class.
Our teachers were very old and wise so they knew that this wouldn’t just be a learning experience for the 8th graders but also the 1st. They learned that civil literacy meant that they not only needed to worry about themselves but helping someone else out. I went through this stage as an 8th grader and was one of the best experiences of my life. I was able to socialize, have fun, go on field trips and other fun activities with my very own 1st grader. The thing is this doesn’t go on in every other grade school; those other kids that don’t get this option are stuck.
But as of today it’s still the same cell block schools in the confined rooms with the teachers teaching what the state wants the teachers to teach the kids so they pass all these tests. And now I hear they want to hold back third graders if they can’t read at a third grade level. So yes I think times have changed in the past centuries on what Gatto says. I feel more and sorrier for the teachers now than I did as I was growing up. I guess I was blind to see how teachers have to teach and how they teach.
If corporal punishment is so bad why did they allow it to continue for so many years? Are children that were punished affected from the punishment and now suffer untold damage as adults. We will answer these questions in this paper. Corporal punishment to some extent is needed to discipline a child in my opinion. Not so much so that they are physically or mentally hurt but a small swat on the rump to get their attention is necessary at times.
Alaa 1 Jasmine Alaa Period 1 Expository Reading and Writing Oppressor, tyrant, intimidator, and aggressor; these are all names that encompass everything that a bully is considered. Its been said that there are two types of people in this world, bullies and their victims. So every child whether they are in grade school, middle school, or high school must decide where they stand and how they want to be perceived. Do they want to be a person who uses strength and power to intimidate someone else by forcing them to do what they want or do they want to be the one being enforced, either way one must also consider whether those are the only two options to choose from. Everyone has seen the television shows and movies depicting some poor adolescent being harassed and bullied in the halls at school and running home trying to escape their aggressors, but the story always ended the same, as soon as the child would make it home and close their door they were safe.

Many people argue that the lack of funding given to schools affect how well teachers teach, suggests Update: Education Standards. I know now that the Act is put into place; I will have to work even harder as a teacher to make sure that all of my students grasp the material that I teach them in order to succeed on tests. As a teacher the job is to educate every student that is in the classroom, but teachers have to go the extra mile to teach the students the material. Teachers are also now making sure that they add detail that interests every one of their students, so that the material carries on with them throughout
