A Man’s struggle
Daniel Patrick Moynihan a very profound thinker, a liberal, was born in nineteen twenty seven. He was a United States Senator; he was elected in 1976 in New York. Since he was very dedicated, he was elected three times in the Senate. As Jessica Reeves a journalist in Time magazine suggests, “The former New York Senator, who died Wednesday at 76 from complications arising from a burst appendix, was known for his sharp wit and his nimble mind.” Many think that he was very smart or nimble as the above example suggests.   Moynihan really struggled through his life, he polished shoes for living in his childhood years.. Although not too many know about Moynihan, he sure played an important role in the U.S. government. He served under four presidents, for instance, “Moynihan was a member of four successive presidential administrations, beginning with the administration of John F. Kennedy, and continuing through the administrations of Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald Ford” (Wikipedia). His non stop working for the government is an evidence of how dedicated he was to America. Throughout his terms one finds that Senator Moynihan tends to be a Liberal, does not like poverty and also fought against Racism.
Senator Moynihan an interesting man might as well be thought of as the Forest Gump of the modern politics. Forest Gump was a movie that got the Oscar and other awards for its brilliance, but critics still criticized it. The same way Moynihan was criticized for whether or not he knew what was going on around him. He was seemingly in the middle of every major political controversy for 35 years, but like Forest Gump he was still criticized. But reality is he did know what he was in to, for instance, “He told Richard Nixon in 1969 that women's rights would be the emerging issue of the 1970s. He was one of only two people — the other was Ronald Reagan — who predicted in the early 1980s that the Soviet Union was headed the way of the Dodo bird.”...
