Break down of communication- The strategy you could use for the service user would be having a care plan for them. It is important to build an understanding of the needs and preferences of people. You can then find out there preferred method of communication and will find out about the service user, if they are deaf and they prefer to use sign language then staff may need to get trained to learn it or get an interpreter to overcome the break down of communication. I think that this the best way to overcome the difficulty as you will get to know the individual and all the skills and overcoming barriers to communicate will be useful to avoid trigger situation such as aggression. ‘It is important to use care plans to communicate well.
