Decision making with your employees will let them gain respect for the leader and become more determined. This style will bring strength between you and your employees. Laissez-Faire-This style is used when the leader is lazy or distracted, it’s more of a you do what you want style. This style can be used when the team is highly capable and motivated, it’s when the team doesn’t need close monitoring or supervision. This style can cause failure when the leader expects the group to make the decision between themselves when they are un sure about what they need to achieve and how they need to accomplish the task.
And just like in life we didn’t get to choose our consequence for our action. But whether you make a good or bad choice there is always a consequence. Being obedient is important for our safety and the Lord sees obstacles ahead that we may not be capable of seeing, so we just have to trust in him and follows his commandments. The savior is the ultimate example of obedience. The savior was always obedient.
Sometimes this style is also described as autocratic. It is a common leadership style and is used when a leader needs to keep as much power as possible and keep control over the decision making. Subordinates are expected to obey orders without arguing back or in need of an explanation to do what they have been ordered to do. In the public services this leadership maybe used when you have all the information to solve the problem or you are working to a deadline. This is not an effective way to get the best result from a team, but it has some advantages in situations where there is pressure to get the task done, like in the armed forces.
In this article by Mrs. Deluca she mentioned that combat soldiers are trained to “toughing it out”, whatever the problem is. They are trained not to show any signs of “weakness” because in some cases it is frowned upon. Combat war veterans at times will tend to judge themselves as being weak because the condition makes them feel weak. Mrs. Deluca also explains that to tough it out is a skill that is necessary when it comes to a combat situation. The reason is because soldiers see it as skills that work and that have made it possible for them to come home alive from war.
That would be my first best practice. When employees know the procedures and policies they are required to abide by, and the procedures for how discipline is handle it will make situations easier to handle since all this was informed of ahead of time. It will also provide employees with an understanding that if they do something wrong so and so will happen, before hand which can deter employees from doing that certain act in the first place. Not every company has a set polices or procedure for how discipline is handled therefore this can sometimes create panic for some employees who may fear they loss of their job, simple guide lines by a supervisor can be given as to what may happen to employees when certain actions are taken or not taken. Supervisors should always be aware and encourage employees to discuss any issue with them.
You have control and the ability to push yourself and stay motivated. Staying on track and staying focused. Being able to live self- disciplined all the time is impractical, but we need to always be disciplined when it comes to our job as a paramedic. Respect returned is respect given. When we say or do things without thinking that shows lack of self-discipline but also immaturity.
There was also an additional day of training in which more emphasis was placed on the seriousness of the issue. This move from commanders gives us the impression that they want the best for all. Conclusion As the number show, the military has not solved this issue within the ranks. Reoccurring training can help but being vigilant and a good wingman will reinforce these standards. Democratic leadership involves the leader encouraging the team members to become a part of the decision which is the opposite of Authoritarian leadership. Democratic leadership still means that the leader maintains control of the group of the final decision but the team still have the chance to voice their own opinions. This encourages a sense of responsibility in the team members. It also allows the leader to become better. This style would not be used in a situation where the team may be under fire, or in danger and have to act quickly, another style would be used then but I think this leadership style is most effective in situations that involve planning out things because both the team members and the team leader are involved in the decisions which make a bigger impact on the final decision in which all the team have put in input to make the action as effective as possible.
In the public services, these types of leaderships will be used within different circumstances, authoritarian is best in urgent situations but laissez-faire is better for those who are experts and know exactly what they are doing and don't depend on a leader, they are similar because they both focus on the task in hand but one is directed every step by a demanding leader, sometimes, authoritarian could be bad style to use as it could make the other team members feel under pressure and lack motivation but leading in a laissez-faire manner will make the members feel more important because they have freedom to work the way they feel best. If there was to be a car accident, authoritarian would be a better approach because whether it was ambulance, police or fire, they will need to get the victims to hospital and road cleared as quickly as possible but it'd take longer if the team didn't know what their roles were and what they were
The rules and regulations that are set differ from each station. Some stations are stricter than others; the other officers and their relationship with each other are diverse. Some stations the officers have a closer relationship with one another meaning that if an officer was to make a mistake, it would have a huge impact on their superiors. “No matter what we back up our fellow officers when we need to but there is no looking the other way or letting one make a mistake and not take the fault for it,” said Deputy
