301 – Communication and Professional Relationships with children, young people and adults 1.1 Effective communication is important relationship with young people children and adults is clear. This is done by putting in place and communicating about boundaries and what behaviour is acceptable. Expectations about behaviour relating to all people involved and how adults and young children are to deal with any problems they have. Communication in relation to the child and/or young person development has to be relayed to parents/carer they can help with the development of the child in there learning. 1.2 Relationship building is important when working with children and young people.

When building relationships with children and young people it is important to adapt your behaviour and communication accordingly: Make sure the children know the ground rules and boundaries. Let children have the opportunity to put forward their own ideas and allow them to express themselves in their own time using their own words. Give children your full attention when working with them, which you can achieve through body language, facial expression, speech and gesture. Making sure you are listening to the children when they are talking, this will show them that you are interested and value their opinion.
Effective communication also helps families and staff to build a trusting partnership and develop honest and respectful relationships. When families and staff have a genuine interest in one another, people are able to be open about their thoughts and feelings. 2. Identify one policy and one procedure from children or young person's work setting for sharing information. All policies should be available to those who need to know basis and they may be shared with colleagues, parents, carers and other settings as well as with other agencies and services.
Children and young people should feel comfortable to express themselves freely and to know that adults are responding positively to these expressions. Teachers and supporting staff have to know the child and her family to be able to build a trusting relationship and to break communication barriers, if there is any. It is vital to be able to exchange information that will enable people involved to understand issues that might arise in a working environment. 1.2 Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of your work Give at least one example with staff,parents,children and other professionals. One has to have effective communication skills in order to be able to gain the trust and respect in working environment.
By applying inclusive practice this will treat every child and their families as individuals, and will help in adapting to each individual needs. It is very important to understand that inclusion does not mean that we view each other the same or provide the same work, it is about making sure that we are making adaptations to each situation and to the particular activity, instead of making a child do a completely different activity. Like this we are making sure that we are giving each individual the same opportunity. Inclusive practice supports diversity by accepting and welcoming all kind of people in the society. Different approaches, manners and stratagems are applied in order to ensure that people are not secluded or excluded.

Communication is essential and is used to meet needs of all children. It is a basic requirement of my job role to communicate with individuals and their families, other members of staff on a daily basis. Explain why it is important to observe an individual’s reactions when communicating with them. Observing individuals helps us learn about their needs, how their feeling, what they lie/dislike, what they enjoy doing in certain activities. It is important to do so because it ensures any health and safety issues are recognised and reported, for example any illnesses, disabilities ECT… Be able to meet the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of individuals.
Collaboration with families also adds to mutual problem solving and shared decision making. Teachers, schools and districts can earn family support through effective collaboration. Students benefit from parental involvement by showing strong feelings of self-worth and self-satisfaction. Parents are able to learn skills which assist in improving their child’s academic growth. For example, they can learn behavior management techniques and communication strategies.
I will listen to what suggestions parents can make to help improve the classroom and make it a better learning environment. Philosophy: I am going to gather up students and parents and allow them to give me advice on how to improve the classroom. I am going to arrange the classroom so it is open and inviting. It will be a well-developed learning environment. Where I can teach the children how to read, write, and focus on what the need the most and not repeating what they already know.
It can provide guidance to staff when dealing with inappropriate behaviour presented by a child/young person. It states how to encourage positive behaviour, the importance of being fair and consistent, I feel it is very important that all staff are consistent and apply the rules, rewards and consequences in the same way. Children’s behaviour must be managed effectively and in a manner appropriate for their stage of development and particular needs. Each school or setting should have a named person that deals with behaviour management.
