This hospital is the abode of teaching. We also see Memorial in the system of not-for-profit hospital system with 64 care centers and 13 hospitals. Here we can find the air ambulance called Life Flight. A study conducted by Thomson Reuters (2012) found that among the 13 hospitals of the Memorial Hermann system six are of top quality to stay in the top 100 list recommended by the national benchmarks. These hospitals are known for their patient centered perspective and this is their quality specialty. However, it may be noted that the Chowan Medical Center of Memorial system is not among the mentioned six. Chowan Medical Center (CMC) of Memorial healthcare system does not maintain high percentages like the six on the top list measured by Healthcare System on the Survey of Patients’ Hospital Experiences (HCAHPS). The assessment principles were as below: • Percentage of patients reporting they “Always” got support whenever they asked was 56% whereas the other percentages were State (66%) and Nat (64%). • Percentage of patients reporting they “Always” had good communication with nurses was 56% whereas the other percentages were State (77%) and Nat (76%). • Percentage of patients reporting they “Always” got good treatment for pain control was 56% whereas the other percentages were State (71%) and Nat (70%). • Percentage of patients reporting they “Always” got good explanations about bad medicine was 56% whereas the other percentages were State (77%) and Nat (76%).
