Cultural Assessment of Organic Valley Cooperative Research Plan Organization: Organic Valley Cooperative Reason Chosen: To gain knowledge of the culture within a successful cooperative. Assessment Model: According to Understanding Management, an organizations culture can broken down into 4 organizational levels. "Combining Culture and Performance", Exhibit 2.8 on page 67 represents this method of analysis. The model asserts that these 4 organizational levels are based upon the managers relative attention managers pay to cultural values and business performance. These levels consist of high to low attention to business performance, as well as high to low attention to values. Quadrant A implies a low level of attention to both business performance as well as values, and quadrant B assumes a high attention to values, but low attention to business performance. Quadrant C entails high attention to business performance, and a low attention to values. Quadrant D regards an organization with a high level of attention to both values and business performance.
