Abstract The following text examines the Apple-Foxconn relationship and Apple’s influence on its suppliers and their employees’ working conditions. It also explains the different stages of global corporate citizenship Apple has gone through over the years as they were intertwined in the middle of a larger human rights issue in fair labor practices. We also examine what goes into the company’s internal supplier code of conduct and how it differs than a standardized one provided by third-party organizations. The difference between internal and third-party audits is also investigated. INTRODUCTION Global corporate citizenship is progressively more important in today’s world as companies have a better understanding how it affects their business, brand and ultimately bottom line.

The people of Salem Town continued to prosper but farmers from Salem Village believed that their growing prosperity threatened their Puritan values. Salem Village and Salem Town differed on their choices of ministers. Tensions increased when Salem Village’s new minister criticized the prosperity of those in Salem Town. Because of envy and resentment, most of the accused lived in Salem Town and the accusers in Salem Village. Tensions increased in the communities because people wanted ownership of land.

Post Civil War industrialized America was full of new inventions and systems of business. Unfortunately many of these corporations that were started had corrupt leaders. Starting with the credit mobilier in the railroad industry to Jay Cooke in the finance industry and Carnegie in the steel industry. Most of these corporations created many jobs for Americans and the immigrants entering the US but they also gave them bad working conditions and low wages so that they could make as much profit as possible. Many historians call these leaders of the corporations the “robber barons”.

Following Draco’s laws, the poor citizens had to mortgage parts of their lands to wealthier citizens in exchange for food and seeds for plants. This resolved in many poor citizens enslaving themselves to clear their debts (3). While, Solon’s laws were not as severe and also covered most aspects of society, including: marriage, economy, crime, punishment and politics. Although, Solon’s laws did not establish a democracy, they were a crucial step towards Athenian democracy.
OPDA had a better administration than the government in terms of tax collection through using certain techniques as double-entry book keeping and not hesitating to use armed force given to them in the local areas. The strict implementation of OPDA or the Regie Company was not accepted and appreciated by the farmers for long years. One indicator for this was increasing cases of tobacco smuggling, which made the local representatives of the company continuously complain to the government and employ more and more company workers in years.
