1. SECTION 1 - MODEL HIGH STANDARDS OF MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE AND BEHAVIOUR 1.1. Activity 1 1.1.1. How do you perceive the role of a business/ organizational manager, ie what things does a manager need to do and what resources do they draw upon? A business / organizational manager is someone who is responsible for an area or department of works, it is their responsibility to ensure that the department / area runs smoothly and efficiently.
For instance guidebooks or electronic records of resources and liabilities, income and expenses, profit and losses, Bank statements and any further relation of transactions associated with the business. Important records such as tickets, invoice, acknowledgments and other related documents issued or received from customers/suppliers schedules and accounting records should always be maintained and correct. Good records will allow you to supervise how your business is working from day to day, and take any action required to correct problems that become obvious. Moreover Records can protect workers and the agency particularly from later claims of negligence. If good records are not kept this will result in major problems for the business.

2.2 Explain the purpose of giving accurate and up-to-date information to callers. Giving accurate information to callers means when someone calls a company they have done so with the anticipation of getting their question/query promptly and professionally. When the caller has accurate and up to date information they are less likely going to complain against the company. For example if I caller calls up regarding the status of their application we look on our system and tell them what we see on the screen and an indication what we may need from them, if its complete we give indication how long the badge will take. 2.3 Explain the purpose of confidentiality and security when dealing with callers.
This allows the team to better manage the project and map out the road to success. Periodically reviewing the business case ensures the project is on time, and on budget. The project manager gains valuable feedback on the progress of the project. The PM can perform quality control and risk assessment and keep the customer informed on the progress of the project through quality of deliverables and alignment to their business cases (time, cost, benefits, quality, etc.) Reference Heldman, K.
In order to be employed as a member of the IT security team, an applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the federal government. Outside of the server room, all sensitive files should use 56-bit encryption to protect them from being read by any outside entities. All portable devices used for business purposes by employees with access to secure files should also be encrypted. Intrapersonal or interdepartmental communications, such as emails, should also be run through an encryption program to protect against being intercepted by any outside entities. Personal electronic devices, such as cellphones, should not be allowed into secure areas such as the research and development areas or manufacturing areas.
3. Documentation: It is vital that all transactions have proper documentations. Your company’s current use of pre-numbered invoices is an appropriate measure for this internal control. Additionally, the purchase of an indelible ink machine for printing checks would provide another layer of protection. The use of such a machine would alleviate the risk of employees altering checks for personal gain.
These are the tools that are used by managers of a business. This method is used to make sure that the business operates according to plan. In Needles (p. 265), internal controls are defined as management’s responsibility to establish an environment, accounting system, and control procedure that will protect the company’s assets. Internal controls can be classified as either detective or preventive. Preventive controls are used to prevent and/or minimize errors or irregularities.
