When you watch October Sky, you remember the event about when the Russians launched Sputnik in 1957. You already know that while watching this movie, you will have some emotions like stress, sadness, happiness, madness and a lot more. This movie is an American movie which is based on a true story. The screenplay for the 1999 movie was written by Lewis Colick. The book was written by Hommer H. Hickam. The movie follows the traditional plot line by starting the film with a radio saying that Sputnik was launched into the Earth by the Russians. At that point, we already know that the story will be about rockets. When Homer saw Sputnik crossing the sky, he started to be interested in rockets and wanted to build them. John, his father didn’t respect his choice and want him to work at his mine. Homer doesn’t want to work there because he doesn’t want to play with his life; it is too dangerous to work there. At this moment, it shows that Homer and John don’t have the same opinion; also they don’t have a good relationship with each other. At the mine, his father had an accident and Homer had to work there to provide and help his family. That event proves Homer’s decision about that he will never work there again anymore for anyone else. He leaves the mine and returns to school and build a final rocket. At this moment, we see that the plot line is matching the movie because we see that Homer will never give up on his dream no matter if some people don’t want him to follow his dreams. At the last launch of rockets, he saw his dad and was really surprised as if he offers him to push the final button of the rockets. His dad pushed it and the final rocket went about 30 000 feet up. At this moment, John finally respect Homer’s dream, he is also proud of Homer’s intelligence. Homer finally realized his dream with his dad. That little summary confirm that the movie follows the
