They also require sound proof evidence, instead of going by someone’s word of mouth. Next is self-awareness, critical thinkers use this to weigh the influence of motives and bias opinions (Critical thinking community, 2011.) Finally, critical thinkers are known to have an open mind. Confidentiality of a client can be a challenge when switching the role of an advocate to become the mediator. As an advocate there will be information known that could influence the success of the mediator. Personal Philosophy in Planned Parenthood The most important aspect to have when working as an advocator and a mediator would be self-awareness. An individual needs to know what possible biases may be present within him or herself. An individual needs to leave personal values, opinions, and personal biases completely out of the
Free will must account for our undeniable experience of freedom of choice. However, it does not necessarily need to conclude that our choices are free from antecedent factors - empirical evidence. It must also account for the flexible, conscious control that we experience in everyday life - the fact that we deliberately select goals, values, and optional plans of action (Voss 1997). In free will, there is something or someone who will choose and choice is an action, therefore there should be an “actor”, and this is “our mind” which is the totality of our mental processes. This aspect of our “mind” knows and aware of the self that recognizes the free will.
Lastly, if we were to assume that we are truly in control of our destiny/outcome, living in a vacuum from externalities, what would be the need for gratitude and humility? We would in that world be fully accountable and could boast of our successes or be suicidal in our failures. It simply is not realistic and the guidelines for doing these is to evaluate where our thinking fits inside the confines of the model. My learning and take away is to accept that we do live in a world where externalities do exist, and influence our lives. The key however is to learn to accept that which we cannot change, and take

I believe that conformity is better than individuality for a few reasons. These reasons include, others have more experience, we do not know everything about life, and conformity is needed to be successful. No matter who you are or where you may be, there is always someone with more experience who knows better.
BARRIERS TO CRITICAL THINKING Opinionated Opinionated means expressing strong beliefs or judgments about something, having or showing strong opinions. I can be very opinionated about things that I feel strongly about. I often form my opinion and then I am not open to hearing other viewpoints. I feel that in critical thinking being open minded and willing to receive outside information is necessary. Listening to other opinions on a subject can broaden your thought process on the subject.
“Developing critical thinking skills will empower one to make sound decisions throughout ones life” (Garner 3). One should learn to think critically because if one doesn’t carefully examine and evaluate what you see, read, hear, ones not really learning. “Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject, content, or problem in which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully imposing intellectual standards upon his or her thoughts” (Foundation For Critical Thinking). “Whatever you are doing right now, whatever you feel, whatever you want, all are determined by the quality of your thinking. If your thinking is unrealistic, your thinking will lead to many
Free will and unfree actions simply have different kinds of causes. We as human being have a conscious and we grow to learn right from and wrong, if we wanted to do right then we would and if and when we don’t do right then the consequences follow. Having common sense all ties this together, if you know that doing everything right then do just that to avoid the consequences that will surely follow if you
