The news right now is peppered with articles about Obama's actions of making sure all companies offer insurance for their employees that includes contraception. Dan Mercia of CNN writes it as, “An original mandate on providing contraception was part of the new federal healthcare law spearheaded by Obama, the Affordable Care Act. It required that insurers provide, at no cost to those insured, all forms of contraception approved by the Food and Drug Administration.” This is not something that is making the Catholic people happy because they believe life should not be prevented. The author of the NY TIMES article talks about just such a case when Judge John Kane issues an injunction against Obama's insurance mandate. There is nothing that says judges, individuals, or companies can ignore a law once its made because their beliefs don't follow under that law.
They don’t think a woman can be denied care because of her financial status. They think that public funding for family planning is critical. The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act would shut doors to Title X clinics when they are very important. Women also rely on Title X programs for not only abortions but for cancer screenings, annual exams, contraceptive services, and testing and treating sexually transmitted infections. President Obama has prioritized the program.
Reviewing this article helped me understand when abortion should be an option. No women should have to give birth to a child from the man that sexually abused her. In the book, pro-life and pro-choice opinions are heard and help predict the future with abortion. The opinions did not change my views on abortion but informed me of what it might do in the future. The newspaper article is about a bill that will imprison anyone who kills a fetus that has a heartbeat.
“America’s Medical Pot Laws in 2011” Dec. 8, 2011 The article “ A Necessary But Insufficient Step On Marijuana.” published by Kathleen Parker inform us that Obama administration has stopped interfering with states’ use of marijuana in medical fields; however, giving permission to medical marijuana doesn’t mean the drug regulations are loosen on drug traffickers. Arguments about legalization of medical marijuana are increasing every time this topic comes up because some Americans support the idea of decriminalization of marijuana which includes couple of presidents and Supreme Court justice where some people oppose this whole proposal. Ms. Cory is a pro-life Republican mom who endorses legalization of marijuana and points out that it
The well-know phrase “ideas have consequences” is precautionary. People often forget that the genesis of an unhappy consequence is a bad idea. On the positive side, we need to nourish good ideas that will give birth to good actions. C. Certainly, abortion goes far beyond the abortion issue itself, but if many would try the motherhood out, they would love. It is a blessing to conceive a child.
In this landmark case, the Court ruled that a pregnancy may be aborted during the first trimester, because the embryo is not yet viable. During the second trimester, the state may decide to protect the woman’s health by regulating the manner in which the abortion occurs. However, the Court ruled that during the third trimester, the developing child is capable of surviving on its own and, therefore; the state then has the power to deny the woman an abortion. After this ruling many pro-choice individuals argued that it was an inappropriate intrusion of the government into the people’s affairs; but as a result many young lives were saved. Abortion is unnecessary and the statistics prove it.
However, religious traditions are more varied than that and even in the religions mainly opposed to abortion, there are traditions that permit abortion. Religion is important in this cause because not every religion regards abortion as a simple, black and white decision, which causes a lot of controversy. For example, Protestant Christianity is one of the most common religious traditions in the United States, as well as the world. Vocal opposition to abortion is very common in Protestant churches but support for abortion rights is as well, just not as strong. There is no single Protestant position on abortion, but Protestants who oppose abortion sometimes portray themselves as the only true Christians
Shyla Corson Professor Griffin English Composition 1102 16 March 2013 Article Analysis The proof type most noticeable to me in the “A Flood of Suits Fights Coverage of Birth Control” article was Ethos. Ethos refers to the credibility of the author and is often conveyed through the tone of what is being said and also how the author speaks on different views. Ethan Bronner, the author, begins with the views of the government. He explains why the president along with the Supreme Court feel as if the new health care act is a good idea and their reasoning’s behind the creation and rulings in court cases. The information in the article wasn’t just made up, general statements however.
I am a devout Catholic and that is definite reason that has influenced my opion in my feelings about abortion. In my opion the man has half the right to deiced if the fetus should be aborted. If a man can be incarcerated for fetal homicide then why should a women be allowed to have an abortion because logically it cant be homicide if the women doesn’t die because the fetus is a part of the women’s body not a separate identnaty. Who are we to say that the fetus is human or not, it has always been human why have we changed this is it to suite what is easier to us. If it isn’t human any more than can some one please send me the memo.
The first half of this essay is a classic straw man argument. Source: click here Natural Law, the basis for many of the teachings of the Catholic Church, is often considered a very conservative approach to sexualethics, particularly to pre-marital sex. This allows for many interesting points for discussion in a modern society like our own. In this essay I will outline the Natural Law approach to pre-marital sex and evaluate its reliability. I will also outline and evaluate other ethical approaches to the topic in an attempt to determine if a more reliable approach is available.
