February 2, 2008 was our biggest most consequential game of the year, for our varsity school soccer team. The year could be described by some as a year of rebuilding and upset after upset. Yet to many of us it was a year of growing and building of friendship. The match that was lurking closer and closer was against Sunnyside High School who we had previously defeated in a nail-bitter style game. Nevertheless we knew not to underestimate them for they were currently ranked 2nd in this vast sate, that encompassed many commendable and worthy teams.
Shortly after the tournament, Coach K. was forced to take a ten-month break from coaching because he underwent back surgery, but he returned to lead the Blue Devils into three more NCAA tournaments in 1996, '97 and '99. The Sporting News named him Sportsman of the Year in 1992 he was the first college coach to have been so honored. Also in 1991 he was named Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and by Basketball Times
He lived with his mother until he was eight and then moved in with his dad. Dwayne loved to play sports. He never thought he would play professionally until he moved to his dad’s. Dwayne’s dad was coach of a teenage team in Chicago. Hours of practice with his step-brother and his father turned him into a greater player.
Diekens come to the US on a soccer scholarship from England. His passion for soccer has led him to coaching soccer for kids. He found the NOCO United Soccer Academy for this purpose. Reymundo also has a fifteen-year-old son, Reymundo Jr. who is a good student at the regional school and a star in the soccer league. Reymundo Jr. decides to go along with his father as a gesture of loyalty and love. Even as he loses hope on the trail he endures to try to save his son, Reymundo Jr. who eventually dies in Reymundo’s arms. Chespiro (Daniel Lercas) Chespiro is the brother of Luis Cercas, who leads the human trafficking crime family in Phoenix, Arizona. "Chespirito" is the name of a little red cricket on a Mexican television show.
I am writing this letter to you with tremendous amount of disappointment and hope that you actually read this letter to the end. In summer of 2011 Unionville Soccer was introduced to my son who became very eager and interested to join the Unionville Rep. Soccer Team hoping to develop his soccer skills and better himself in all aspect of the game. In September 2011 he started to try out for 99 age group. In Mid October he was told that he was accepted as part of the Winter Program in Unionville. Therefore, he had 3 times a week practice and one day a futsul.
Who is “The Great One?” For many years, Canada’s own, Wayne Gretzky, has been considered the greatest player to ever play the fast paced game of hockey. Gretzky has made his name familiar in every National Hockey League (NHL) record book during his illustrious twenty one year career. Years of NHL play have come and gone and his name still sits triumphant amongst many. However, tables have been turning the last few years as Sydney Crosby, another young Canadian player, has stepped into the spotlight and taken the professional league by storm. Records have been set by both of these talented phenomenons, but who in the end will take the title of “The Great One,” young active Sydney Crosby or the retired hockey hero Wayne Gretzky?
My confidence was at an all time high! My father thought I needed a challenge, so he convinced me to try out for the High School Varsity team. Obviously, I was certain I would dominate. I had never been unsure about my ability. Tryouts began after school on a beautiful Monday afternoon.
He was passed over for the final spot on the varsity team.” He took that as motivation and dominated on the junior varsity team. The next year he made the varsity team and led them to the state playoff his senior year. Accepting a scholarship for North Carolina, Jordan started as a freshman. He hit a game winning shot in the championship game that made him part of college history. He was named player of the year after his great performance his junior year.
On February 18, 1994 a child was brought into this world. His name was Thanasi, named after his grandfather. Thanasi was born and raised into a greek family. His parents forced him to go to greek school and oh boy did he hate it. On Thanasi’s 10th birthday he made a wish hoping that one day it will come true.
