Who Am I Paper Kathy Corbin Liberty University July 13, 2012 Career Instrument Results The first step in determining career interest and type of work environment my personality type may be best suited to required I take the interest profiler survey (O*net interest profiler, 2000) and the work importance locator survey (O*net importance locator, 2000). The interest profiler contains six different vocational personality types: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional with descriptive information about each type. The Work Importance Locator also contains six different types of work values: achievement, independence, recognition, relationships, support, and working conditions with descriptive information about each type. Both surveys are compatible with Holland’s (Niles and Harris-Bowlsbey, 2009) theory of Types and Person-Environment Interactions. After completing the interest profiler, I scored the report and the results were artistic - four points, social – four points, and enterprising – two points.
