A lot of people have died because of police officers and the reasons are clear, it is due to criminal activities they have undertaken and then refuse arrest which later causes a spark to ignite between the authorities and the civilians. Issues surrounding gun violence have been prevalent for decades, however in recent years the crime rates have spiked drastically due to gang violence. These gangs are involved in a host of different crimes like homicides and the illegal sale of narcotics. Street gangs are setting up shop in predominantly Black communities threatening the lives of many innocent civilians. As if the presence of gang activity in these communities isn’t bad enough, these gangs are robbing young girls and boys of their future often recruiting them involuntarily. It is extremely important for the citizens of these gang-infested areas to grasp the totality of the issue and decide to fight against it despite feelings of hopelessness.
In some states, the individual must be convicted of two serious felonies for the three strikes law to apply, while in others any felonies count towards the third strike. Critics of the three strike law express many strong arguments against their harsh legal statute. Our society has ultimately had an issue with the three strikes law. Some people have said that the law “destroys the flexibility of the courts and the judge, it is unjust in certain conditions, and it adds more criminals to an already crowded and expensive criminal system”

Information concerning the number of vandalisms, burglaries, assaults, and murders of an area can sway prospective buyers from purchasing homes or businesses from settling in a select community. Some believe that urban areas struggle with higher crime rates than suburban areas. Historically, crowded, low-income neighborhoods were thought of as crime capitals.
Every conflict has its significant implications on administrative and departmental officer procedures. The mainly problem that always occurring is the physical brutality, which the main goal is to get the police department to enforce and adopt a written policy. However, polices limiting actions will bring most of debate especially from the police officers themselves. “Many feel that their firepower is already too weak to battle the weapons criminals have on the streets, and limiting their legality of gun use will not only endanger them, but the innocent bystanders who must endure the hierarchy gun power creates in the benefit of criminals.” (Bouza, Anthony. 1990) It’s necessary to ask help from the superior officers so that a tolerance of brutality will not establish.
The percentages of the people that are arrested in New Orleans are young African American Males. Now are all them all committing horrible crimes like murder? Well some are, but instead of these crooked cops trying to do undercover work they should be stopping the real problems. Many of New Orleans police officers are not in it for the safety of our city. There polices officers that arrested men with weed just to keep it and sell it back to another drug dealer so that they make money off of it.
This plays a major factor in the homicide rate in Philadelphia, although it’s not the only factor. Being unable to support yourself financially can lead to other illegal options for people in urban parts of the city. Men typically turn to the streets and drug dealing to meet their financial needs. This may lead to bad deals that result in feud amongst different parties. According to Schneider, homicide is highly gendered.
Legalize It Every year in America billions of dollars are made illegally, thousands of people are imprisoned, and even more people lose their lives to drugs. On a broad level, illegal drugs ruin whole communities by perpetuating the disease of addiction and engulfing neighborhoods in the gang violence that inevitably comes with illegal drug trafficking. On a more personal level, illegal drugs ruin lives by making people turn their backs on loved ones and causing them to throw away their dreams. Most people agree that a problem that is this pervasive and expansive must be dealt with, but few can agree on a solution. There is only one practical solution.
Not only does the person(s) under attack financially suffer, but the city and community loose too. Vandalism which can lead to larger group violence can cost the city substantially in police, fire department, and in some cases hospital/doctor fees (justice.org/hatecrime). The community is left with eyesores like dilapidated buildings or homes due to the destruction. Either money is spent to repair or demolition these structures or the value to the surrounding properties decline. In either instance it is a hefty price to pay because of the emotional instability of an individual or group motivated by
