Creative development is important to children’s development and learning because it helps your child to use their mind and imagination to express their own ideas. Even playing with their friends is also helping your child to understand that all family’s and cultures can be different. It also helps your child to make connections in their thinking and the way in which problem are solved.
They must be provided with opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, for example, through a variety of art, music, movement, dance, imaginative and role-okay activities, mathematics, and design and technology’ Statutory Framework 2.17. In this area of learning, creativity has been shown to be very interesting as workers can put together other learning areas, such as problem solving, together with creativity and help children understand, learn and achieve their development by using different methods. There are three aspects of creative development which are being creative by responding to experiences, expressing and communicating ideas; exploring media and materials; and creating music and dance. Being creative by responding to experiences, expressing and communicating ideas shows an overall of how the children might express themselves. This aspect of learning makes sure that workers know that children need a wide range of experiences, materials and resources for them to be able to express themselves by planning different types of activities for them to do.
E1 One of the practitioner’s roles in meeting children’s learning needs could be to understand and work with other practitioners and staff. This can help to provide different learning opportunities to individual children because each child is unique as practitioners should take into consideration all diverse learning needs, for example there are many activities that could be changed to suit individual children. The practitioners’ role would therefore be to plan and resource an environment that is challenging and helps children learn in many different areas of their learning. The role of the practitioner in supporting the learning needs of children is they have to complete regular assessments on their development and learning to identify their progress and plan their next steps to help the children achieve further. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), (2012) states that the role of the practitioner is crucial in observing and reflecting on children’s spontaneous play, building on this by planning and providing a challenging environment which supports specific areas of children’s learning and extends and develops children’s language and communication in their play.
Through play a child learns about himself and the others around him which in turn teaches him how to deal with others in the wider world. Cognitive perspective is a significant part of early development. For example playing, playing helps children to learn the skills necessary to effectively take part in their world. The EYFS handbook also says that educational programmes must involve activities and experiences for the children, the first thing they advise is communication and language the handbook says that this area of development ‘involves giving children opportunities for young children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves’ (EYFS handbook, 2014) this can help the children to communicate what they are doing better and can help them understand different languages this could be important if the child’s spoken language isn’t English, as the child can learn through taking parts in the different activities. The second activities advised is physical development which ‘involves providing opportunities for the children for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement’ (EYFS handbook, 2014) this could be using a obstacle course which the children can use to work on their
CYPOP7 1.1 Creative learning is where children use the range of materials and play opportunities around them, provided by adults. A child’s curiosity will lead them to explore the resources. From this the child will learn through play, using imagination, new and unusual ideas (originality), a variety of different ideas (productivity), problem solving and experimenting. Creativity it helps children to express feeling and ideas about people objects and events. This could be in the form of painting, drawing, collage, music, dance, woodwork, model making, sand and water with small world scenarios and miniature garden scenarios.

Effective communication is very important for variety of reasons: Making relationships – Effective communication helps to create new relationships not only with a child, but with parents, careers and colleagues too. To make new relationships effectively you need to use verbal and non – verbal communication, and you need to be friendly, also smiling a lot. Developing relationships - it is important not only to make new relationships, it is also very important to develop and maintain it. To do that professionals need to maintain friendly and supportive approach, and be interested in what other people are doing or feeling. Expressing thoughts and ideas – in order to encourage children and young adults to talk about what they learned and what they think, or encourage them to express themselves imaginatively, communication skills are also needed.
