A champion will fail once in awhile. A contender will fail too but always try to become a champion no matter what. i agree with donatelli, because if you have no goals in your life, you have nothing to strive for and you don’t want it bad enough. My own experiences of when I wanted to be a contender is when i wanted to dance. Ever since i was little i always wanted to be a choreographer - but i will never get there unless i try and when i do it will make me happy and make me work harder than one.
Capitan Mark Kelly Ever since I was a young girl I have always had great dreams and high expectations for myself. Anytime I was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would quickly reply” a lawyer” As the years went by I still had that goal in mind, but I began to realize that I was not exactly Ivy League material. Though I did work really hard in my classes, I was still at best average. During my junior year I took my SAT’s, and cried when I got my scores back. For many years I was scared to go to college because I thought I wasn’t college material.
It pointed out several very pertinent leadership lessons, which I followed and which were successful. They seem like simple lessons from Ranger School, but they can be easily forgotten when times get really tough. The first lesson was to take the tough route when the easy one is readily available. The enemy is probably waiting for you on the easy route. The second lesson was that a leader needs to be seen as someone who is thriving under a difficult circumstance.

Emotionally, there are times when I just give up, but this poem gave me the inspiration to not think this way because there are various of ways to overcome the obstacles life has randomly prepared for us. The wall is an assertive symbol expressing the challenging obstacles hindering our lives, but like the poem says, we can persistently push through like a flying helicopter or find passages under the wall. Life is full of walls that seem to not budge, but when work hard to pass the obstacle, we will know that we have succeeded and that is the greatest present life can give us. Whether I lost hope or just gave up, “Where there's a wall” reminds me to persevere no matter what by becoming a rocket shooting over the wall or tying SOS letter to a bird or even exploding like a bomb.

I did the most responsible thing I could think of and change those goals for myself and continue on my path to success just down a different road. Now I am more motivated than ever.
At the time I was not really sure because I was afraid of not making the team. So when I got to the tenth grade I decided to try out for the junior varsity basketball team.
