A Courageous World “You have to have courage to discover just how far you can really go.” – T.S. Elliot. Everyone has a special capability whether they know it or not. It takes time and determination to find out what you are really good at. Courage is much more than just rock climbing, bungee jumping and cliff hiking; it’s a quality that enables a person to face difficulty without fear. Grabbing a tight grip on reality and striving for something you want takes strength, dedication and a powerful well- driven mind. Being courageous has gave me a new outlook on this world. I used to doubt myself a lot. I was like a human hiding behind an 18 foot barrier, not knowing why I was put on this Earth. Over time, I kept listening to people tell me “Live life to the fullest, because you never know what will happen in the future.” I wanted change for myself. Setting out and finding things I liked to do gave me hope. I have tried many new things over the past few years that I would have never saw myself doing in the past. Everything I do is not perfect, and may not be my best capability, but if I keep trying I know I can do anything. Most of the time you don’t get things on the first try it takes practice and a strong drive. You have to believe that you are capable of doing anything in this world; you have to have a positive outlook for yourself. I have tried many sports and extracurricular activities that I would have loved doing but something always held me back from trying. My 10th grade year I tried out for a spot on the auxiliary squad but ended up not making it because I didn’t give my all. I wanted to be a part of the squad so bad, but I had lost hope and started beating myself up about not being good enough to try out again for my 11th grade year.
