In this situation, social structure is the most logical explanation for the behavior of the inmates and the remaining criminal behavior. It is believed many of the individuals had hard struggles before entering the prison, hence the need to rely on gang interactions. The Pelican Bay State Prison was an environment to prove yourself to other gang members and represent the gang. You had to acquire strength, determination, and overall a violent nature. Many fights broke out in that prison, and most prisoners left with more strength and potential to continue in gang violence upon release from the prison.
Too many people have hurt by this, not only Andrews and Myurans family and friend but our whole world. Firstly Andrew and Myuran had made a drug rehabilitation centre in the prison that has turned a lot of people around and towards a new life. Andrew became a minister who focused on counselling and he became a mentored for his fellow inmates. Myuran became an artist who focused to establish a drug counselling program and he was teaching his fellow inmate’s jobs skills like computer work and graphic designing, for when they get out of prison. In today’s society people are quick to judge and ridicule a persons morals and ethics. There’s many debates on what is considered to be right and wrong for society. Dale Coventry and Jamie Kunz where two attorneys who both faced the agony of holding a great life altering moral secret for 26 years that today is a great source of controversy. Both attorneys knew of a man by the name of Alton Logan who was innocent before he even faced trail but neither attorney could speak up and help to save this innocent man from being imprisoned. If the two would have come forward they would have violated there professional obligations to their client.
