Project Management is teaches us that even though a project and a process must work consecutively for each one to succeed, they collectively have differences that separate the two operations. First, a project has a set-time, budget and team members that work in an organized manner and proceed to perform the project to the specifications of the client's needs and sometime wants if budget permits. According to Pinto, a project is a unique venture with a beginning and end, conducted by people to meet established goals within parameters of cost, schedule and quality (Pinto, 2010, p. 5). The process consists of ongoing, day-to-day operations, which include initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling and closing (Mauk, 2009). In the initiating stage, the project is defined and/or a phase of an existing project is redefined to achieve optimal success. During the planning stage, the scope of the project, objectives and the order of action is developed. Next, executing the specifications of the project that has been outlined begin. Then the monitoring/controlling stage lets the team adjust any specifications that may become costly in the course of executing or modify specifications that may have been overlooked during the planning stage. Last, in the closing stage all activities are finalized and concluded for the project. Explain why project management is often used to train future senior executives. Project management has become a recent force that allow for managers to streamline risk in projects, operations and trainings.
