Also with a shortage of homes, the waiting lists for social housing have never been longer. There are more than 1.8million households in England on the waiting list for a home – an increase of 81% since 1997. Also, other individuals will be left with no choice but to live in the private rented sector with short-term contracts, unpredictability of poor conditions and high costs. This form of housing is seen to be unsuitable for many families and households, especially those who are vulnerable and in need of a stable, secure
Some of the individuals in the story use to have jobs and own their own homes. However, due to the economic crises that faced the nation back in 2008, many found themselves out of jobs, which then in turn caused them to lose their homes finding themselves homeless with no place to go. Therefore, tent “communities” started popping up. A lot of the men and women that were found in the tent city in Sacramento were at one time middle-class citizens. They were living their American dream.
The primary customers of KR+H cabinetry are those who want to optimize the amount of useable space in their homes that stock cabinets cannot provide. The industry in 1992 was comprised of 61% stock cabinetry, and custom cabinets similar to those produced by KR+H comprised of only 20%. This is down from 26% in 1989 resultant from poor economic conditions between 1989 and 1992. KR+H uses a direct sale to consumer approach that only accounted for 2% of total industry sales. Industry sales by use of cabinet dealers and distributors contributed for 31% and 30% respectively.

One day, she met a homeless that was actually someone who had had a house before. Like Ascher, Quindlen also tried to tell us that homelessness can happen to anyone in the world. “We turn an adjective into a noun: the poor, not poor people; the homeless, not Ann or the man who lives in the box or the woman who sleeps on the subway” (Quindlen 178). Quindlen has a different point of view of homelessness. Quindlen sees that homeless means have no house.
Congress continually attends meetings until a federal budget bill is created. However, if the bill is taking a longer time than expected, congress will then propose a “continuing resolution” (Q&A). Although continuing resolutions are not terminating the government shutdown or the chances of another, they do give congress a short period of time to continue working on an appropriation bill to propose to the president (Q&A). This is a big help to avoid many shutdowns from happening. In extreme cases, a continuing resolution can be used for up to a year if needed.
Welfare assistance has been around for what seems like forever. It is a great resource for those struggling to get by and keep a roof over their families head and food on the table. Unfortunately there are too many people out there that abuse the system, making it harder for those that actually need the assistance to receive it. Welfare applicants should be required to submit to a drug test in order to receive benefits. By requiring this many people will stop applying to avoid taking a drug test and the resources will be available to those who need it.
