“But what he seeks to keep as private, even in an area accessible to the public may be constitutionally protected” ~ Justice Potter Stewert (Katz vs. United States). Now don’t get me wrong, because at no point am I saying that what DLK was doing was “right”. However, DLK obviously “expected to keep what he was doing as private”. Therefore, the law enforcement should have gotten a search warrant from a judge prior to searching DLK’s home. I believe many of you would argue that the law enforcement didn’t need to get a search warrant in order to search DLK’s house, because DLK could easily destroy the evidence.
The construction of the desalination plant is flawed firstly as it is on the beautiful coastline in Wonthaggi in south eastern Victoria and it is frightening to think of what is currently in place, but above all it is not needed. That’s what the desalination plant is , an easy , get out of doing it properly short cut from politicians from the Liberal and Labour party’s
Also, the excessive manure present in rainwater runoff during heavy storms cannot be called “agricultural stormwater discharges.” In C.A.R.E v Southview Farms, “The run-off was primarily caused by the over-saturation of the fields rather than the rain and that sufficient quantities of manure were present so that the run-off could not be classified as "stormwater. "” (1994). Therefore, Northfield Farms is in violation of the CWA for its disposal method of waste products as well as the manner in which waste floods surrounding private property. The sweet potato industry, although a high value industry, is becoming increasingly competitive. This underlines the importance of efficiency in minimising the loss of valuable soil. Large amounts of rainfall can result in the loss of soil on cultivated farmland. The loss of soil does not just affect the farmers it also affects the community The aim of the project was to increase awareness of soil health and to develop the best soil management practices for the Cudgen plateau. Figure [ 2 ] Water Way On the Cudgen Plateau, three adjoining landholders implemented soil conservation measures and strategies.
The mountain pine beetle epidemic is causing environmental and social impacts to much of British Columbia. Our forests are very important and will no longer be able to maintain their role if changes are not made. The devastation has had a sweeping impact on B.C.’s ecological, and economical well-being. Additionally, recent studies are drawing attention to the carbon-emitting properties of the dead forests, which is a global concern. A popular misconception developed that the current provincial mountain pine beetle epidemic began in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
These trees and other forests are disappearing. (Doc A, map). The following are ways I want this money to stop deforestation in America so it can become as environmentally conscious as possible: set borders up for loggers, protect old trees by making them landmarks, turn a forest into a National park, and put a tax on logging. Trees must be
Companies and poachers are largely destroying Rainforests. Rainforests are not only beneficial to humans but also to the numerous animal and plants species. They supply much of the oxygen humans need to survive. In addition, some of the trees and plant species within the forest provide essential components in producing medicine. In the 1970s, environmental ethics emerged.
Cindy Lopez College Composition II Unit 6 Project Kaplan University Final Essay Florida Sunpass system SunPass system was mainly created to avoid traffic in the Florida highways like 826, 874, I95, 595, I75, between others. Apparently the new electronic payment method is only creating a chaos in the community. Since 2008, the state has suspended 3.8 million driver's licenses in the state of Florida with a high percentage caused by SunPass violations (Deeson, 2011). This system is composed by three state agencies which are: SunPass, Miami Dade Expressway Authority and their collection agency called Law Enforcement. The lack of communication between the agencies is the main reason why residents are not receiving bills on time and getting
Interoperability is dangerous to the concept of Federalism because although New Orleans was granted money to fund the system by the national government, at the state level, it was never implemented. The dangerous part comes in when the public asks whose fault it was that the system wasn’t in place when it really mattered. The state believes the national government should have been more involved to mandate deadlines and be more proactive in the implementation. The public and many other professionals involved believe the local government could have ironed out all the ethical issues and implemented the system with only the financial help from the national government. Unfortunately for Katrina victims, that’s not what took
The court concluded that the Officer Epps request was not vital in their decision for not granting him the leave, but the relocating of his duties will be disruptive and thereby causing an undue hardship for the small police station. (Great Lakes ADA Center,
