In conjunction with this study, the author questions the 2006 reforms to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) (‘FLA’). Alexander’s premise is that the reforms have done little to adequately resolve the issues for the victims and in some cases have made matters worse. Many victims continue to experience violence long after the court proceedings have finished.
Growing up, we all go through these situations where we are the victims of hurtful situations. As long as it doesn't get out of hand, it can be seen as a rite of passage. Some kids are afraid to go home at night too. With no home life and scared at school, kids can turn to drugs and alcohol for release. Society, parents, and schools do not teach children the skills of physical, psychological, emotional and verbal self-defense.

Assess sociological explanations of gender differences in education (20 marks) Exams results for GCSE and A level have shown that girls are doing better than boys even in the traditional male subjects like maths and science, although boys are slightly improving, they are not improving as fast as girls are and this is dues to many external and internal factors. An external factor of why girls are achieving better than boys in education is because there is now changes in the attitudes, ambitions and roles of females in society. Sue Sharpe’s (1994) did a study on working class girls in the 1970’s and found that girls main priorities were love, marriage and family. She then did the study again in 1990’s and found that attitudes of females have changed as girls now believe a career and being independent is important. Sharpe’s believe this could be because of the changing attitudes of society in general towards women and the impact of feminism.
Women are choosing to have babies later which is also causing the birth rate to drop this is because there is less stigma on having babies t an older age so women are waiting and not worrying what people might think. Babies cost a lot of money so women are saving up first and then having their baby this is a problem for birth rates because once they have waited they are likely to have less
Recidivism is a big problem I this country, too many inmates return back to prison after being released. Many citizens are affected by this as well as the x-convicts and their families. Many children of convicts grow up without their father and could end up in prison themselves. It seems that these x-inmates have no chance to be reformed. This problem exists because there are not enough programs to help inmates be reformed and the little programs that are available they are implemented only after the inmate is released and not in the prison itself.
Family Life and Juvenile Delinquency Researchers have established that there many paths to juvenile delinquency and numerous risk factors that contribute to a youth’s opportunity to offend. The environment in which a child is raised plays a very crucial role in predicting their behaviour in adolescence and subsequent, in adulthood. Delinquency and criminal behaviour typically begin in the home and continue into society. Many modern criminologists argue that youth’s who were deprived of parental warmth and affection had weak family and social bonds and tended to develop a set of beliefs that were negative and hostile towards society (Walsh, 1991). Furthermore, child maltreatment is a consequential social problem.
New right believe that the incline in family diversity and a decline in the nuclear family is a cause of many social problems. They believe that the increase in family diversity is the reason for economic problems. New right believe that the nuclear family or ‘cereal packet’ family as the most suitable family type. Youth Violence in Schools American InterContinental University Abstract During this paper, I will discuss youth violence in schools, and how the media has portrayed it. I will focus on the urban schools since it has the bulk of stigmatism resulting from public opponents with who placed blame on the parents opposed to the type of community these children are forced to be a part of. In addition, there is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which is the cause of many of these youths acting out. lastly, acknowledging the social groups and parents who are trying to aid with being positive in fighting those stigmas and obstacles by educating them and giving them different types of avenues to spend their time.
