The Concept of Performance Art I have been involved with performance art for quite a long time, most of my teenage life to be exact. It is a performance presented to an audience, scripted or unscripted, random or carefully orchestrated, involved with or without audience participation. It can be done via live or media and the performer can be present or absent. It could be situation that involves four basic elements: time, space, performer’s presence in a medium, and a relationship between performer and audience. The concept of performance art is to entertain the audience. During the 1960s, the term “Performance Art” was originally used to describe any live artistic event that involved poets, music, and film makers. Today, performance art can be done with or without the presence of the performer, live or media. There are many different types of art performances such as actors and actresses in a play, voice actors, visual artists, and the musical performing artists. I believe that athletes are considered to be in the category of performance art as well, since they provide entertainment to the audience and they make a remotely connection and strong influence to their audience. I am a performer myself as a musical performing artist. I have been involved with live performances ever since I was little. I started out as a dancer when I was in high school; choreography was one of my professions in my high school years. I was also nominated to be one of the most artistic students in my high school along with my sister; we were both gifted to have such an amazing talent to be able to draw really well. I realized that not only I love getting involve with the art of performances, but I have also learned that I enjoy being in the entertainment industry.
