According to ECAR Study of Undergraduate Students and Information Technology, 86 percent of college students have laptops for educational purposes and 60 percent of students own smartphones. Many schools and other educational institutions are trying to adapt to technology to benefit and increase how and where people learn. Online learning is changing how people look at higher education. To think many years ago who would have thought that a person can get a degree sitting down at a computer with an internet connection.
People can make video conference, download music, create DVDs and CDs, communicate with people all around the world, and endless things on laptop or desktop computer. Yet despite these similarities, there are a lot of differences between these kinds of computer. Laptops offer some advantages that desktops don’t. First at all is the portability. A laptop is easily to carry anywhere; it is perfect for students, and professionals who require a computer while on the move if they need to give presentations or access internet while away from home.
One problem the internet caused stated in the documentary is, it is very hard for parents and authorities to regulate what kids do on the computer. Since the internet is so easy to access via new technologies, authoritative figures just cannot be present with the kids all the time. Another issue the internet has caused reported by the documentary is by it being so addictive, it has taken time away from studying, school work and activities such as reading. This is a problem because education is almost a must in today’s society. However, the documentary fails to acknowledge how the internet has helped kids by providing ways to find answers and acquire research and knowledge.
INTRODUCTION Today, almost every one of us have computer at home and for sure know how to use it. Especially when you go to college, knowing how to use a computer is one of the requirements. With the invention of computers, it has brought a revolution across all industries. Computers have changed the face of society. They are no longer specialized tools to be used by specially trained people.

It allows students and teachers access to information, show students real world, help with research projects, and prepares for jobs. I believe that with the many technological advances that have been made throughout history computers have made life easier.
Education is the key to success and through the 1900s children younger than six years of age learned to read which helps you write and understand proper grammar even with the Great Depression going on, children still gave their all in learning. Looking between era’s life has completely changed; children would not be out and about but would stay home and read novels which gave them understanding and knowledge. Now in our society the internet is basically our knowledge, many youngsters do not care for but if they need a source of information they just need to click on their computers and find the answer instead of retrieving information from a book. Why Lee would hold these views of literacy in the 21st century is because humanity has evolved in such a quick time, but as people we have not grown as we are supposed to. “[We live] in an abundant society where people have laptops, cell phones iPods and minds like empty rooms” by far this quote really does describe our society because we get everything we want yet we cannot grasp how to use proper literacy.
More and more computer based lessons have been given to high school students. Is modern technology culture changing so fast that teachers have to put traditional way of learning on the side to keep up with? More reading exercises and more exposure to complex texts will help high school students get ready for college, also helps colleges from getting burdened of high school students who are not ready for
And it seems that the computer literacy is very important which particularly effect contemporary young people’s mental development. This essay will explore how to properly operate a computer, and what pros and cons they will bring. Contemporary computers are multimedia machines with sophisticated audio capabilities to accompany the video displays (Jewitt 2006cited in Jack J. Hourcade•Howard P. It is true that variety of audio outputs are widely used in schools and colleges that they have become an essential feature of modern education. Technology: How Has It Impacted My Life. Technology has influenced my life with ease, convenient, and available resources. Technology has also demanded many technological challenges in my life. While the march of technology steams on it I not as easy as plugging in a computer to improve the academic ability of students, there is a lot of thought that must go into the integration of technology, and not just a mad grab for the internet. While technology is a great wielder of information and communication it is also a trap for procrastination. One can not look at the world of technology as a toy, for doing so limits even the best students and dooms the weakest. By accepting and even embracing technology allows teachers to grow the minds of children.
